I personally feel like an absolute sucker. Not only for having believed all of the empty promises and encouraging words about "the many opportunities to grow and make money" at Mighty, but for having worked there as long as I did as well. When I showed up for my first day, I immediately realized that this job was not what they promised and I had been "bait and switched" and felt immediate buyer's remorse. I wish I could say that I turned around and quit right then and there, I didn't. I decided to drink the kool-aide, say "this is a startup, I guess" and give it a shot for 15 months. Throughout that time, I had what can only be described as an eye opening experience. Mighty isn't a company that truly values it's employees. They only care about creating value in hopes of a huge exit, which their team will certainly not enjoy much of. The co-founders are incredibly full of themselves, have delusions of grandeur and have rehearsed everything they say during the dreadfully long team meetings so many times that they begin to repeat themselves over and over. They also talk about their company as though they are really having a positive impact on the world, when in reality they're simply a SASS solution for investors. Those same co-founders are also similar to kids who get bored of their new toys shortly after getting them, telling you everything you want to hear to get you through the door and mention how they hired you because you're "super smart". This is only to later make announcements about how the "company is changing, and they'll be hiring people who may be better or smarter than anyone currently on the team". In short, the personalities, egos, and attitudes of the co-founders are absolutely ridiculous and unwarranted at a company this small and relatively obscure. You will not find growth at Mighty, there are no promotions, there are no raises. There are only superficial title changes or responsibility changes (with no salary adjustments) to fit whatever need the co-founders decide they have in that particular quarter. Additionally, It is not uncommon for team members to be "promoted" only to later be re-assigned to their prior positions because it is decided that "the company no longer needs that role" or they "are shifting directions". Ultimately, it lowers the morale of the team and leaves everyone on board feeling used/taken advantage of. To be honest, the reason most of the team keeps falling for it is because the CEO is constantly giving the same speech about "becoming indispensable" and those who get sick of it or don't follow along either quit or are swiftly fired. If you're the type of person who enjoys giving your work 110% effort to reap absolutely no benefits, then Mighty is the company for you. There is a reason that this 3 year old company barely has employees, and why only two of their original team of 20 is still on-board. Like a previous review mentioned, I encourage you to seek out former employees on Linked-In before accepting an offer from Mighty.

Meetings for hours, lack of consistency in company vision and direction, no training, lack of true career growth, no guidance from management. Be cautious of startups that say, "the experience is what you make it. There are so many opportunities here, you just have to hustle." It means growing your career is not one of their priorities and it is probably going to be difficult to get a legitimate promotion (not a fake promotion where they tell you you're a "team lead" without a pay raise). If you're considering a job here, I would highly recommend reaching out to any past Mighty employees (you can find them on LinkedIn) and ask them why they left.
