Infectious culture encourages me continue to learn in my role

      28 Mar 2022 - Senior Accountant

      Business Outlook

      Pros

      - Motivating and infectious culture - Continued growth opportunities - One team mentality, the collaboration that occurs cross-functionally creates wonderful learning opportunities

      Cons

Being involved with such a fast-paced company and considering the growth trajectory we are on at times it can be overwhelming. Things are always changing for the better, and leadership continues to value the opinions of its employees.

      Pros

-discount on Milwaukee Tools, Ryobi, and Hoover -cheap options for health insurance

      Cons

-no training whatsoever. It's a complete joke. They have a training outline they show you, yet never followed it. -lots of backstabbing and snakes at this company, everyone is very much out for themselves. -no profit sharing -vaction/pto/floating holiday time is very underwhelming. For as big of a company as Milwaukee is, you would think they would be more generous. -no support whatsoever on off shifts. If you don't work 1st shift they don't care what happens, but blame you whenever anything goes wrong. -off shifts have NO engineers or maintenance workers on staff, yet are still expected to achieve unrealistic production goals -management is incompetent and only care about short terms goals, rather than looking at the bigger picture -the burnout is real here, when overtime is mandatory you will work 8 hour Saturdays -garbage temp workers. Fights, theft, on the job drug use, and stealing time is not uncommon to see here, yet management turns a blind eye because they can't find people to fill production roles

Cool place to work and grow early career

9 Mar 2023 - Electrical Engineer in Chicago, IL

      Business Outlook

      Pros

I have worked on some really cool projects here and met a lot of very smart people I can learn from. The fast paced nature of the job and the fulfilling work makes it worth it to work here starting out of school. They also recognize talent here and the tool benefit is a nice touch.

      Cons

Working in new product development would easily make me quit early. Thankfully I am not in that group but the turnover rate here is absurd. I’m considered a veteran for being here 3 years. Pay could also be better to match competing companies.

I feel fortunate to be here

6 Feb 2023 - Associate Industrial Designer in Brookfield, WI

      Business Outlook

      Pros

I truly am a lucky person. The design team is great. Most project teams in my business unit are easy to collaborate with. My projects are rewarding. I hold a lot of weight in the decisions that are made on projects. I get opportunities to go on research trips. A lot of my co-workers I can call my friends. The expectation is simple: do quality work on time. If you work hard, you play hard. Overall, I look forward to working here every day. Plus, the designs look killer and function great thanks to a well-curated design team!

      Cons

Projects move very quickly. The workload can be chaotic. The pay is low for such a successful company. Monthly business meetings where executives talk about "look how much money we're making!" can be annoying when the monetary success is not shared fairly with the workhorses. Even if you are valuable to the company, your compensation may be low unless you confront management.

      Pros

I love the 'candid' environment that exist here, I don't have to beat around the bush and can give feedback that isn't always easy to hear; it isn't taken personally and we can move forward productively. Paid well, not expected to work tons of overtime, able to drive rewarding work. Part of the company culture is to empower all employees, and they really live by this. That is a pro for me, but I've seen the lack of direction and need to self-drive work/focus in an ever-changing environment be a con for some. The offices feel like campuses, and buzz with excited energy. Folks gather with co-workers in cafeterias after work to game and share other hobbies/passions.

      Cons

Infrastructure is still in work, a lot of decisions are hard to determine needed stakeholders and necessary outcomes from discussions; injects waste across the board. Not everyone gets hired into the job they're sold in interviewing process, which can be hard to read tea leaves. I landed well (and think it's very possible) but have seen this not go so well for several others).
