Does not live up to core values

Pros

Passion for the work we do, working with other folks who are equally passionate, remote work, autonomy.

Cons

For a company that states their core values create the foundation - their foundation is crumbling. Multiple employees spoke up, we have been advocating our need for a living wage for months, since last year. We are continuously ignored while leadership over hires new employees. It’s like a carousel… once an employee gets burn out from low pay / high stress work, another excited and passionate employee will come take its place. And then once that employee gets burn out… another one is just waiting to come in. This work is great but we are not supported to bring the best energy to our work. Yes this effects clients. We get $23/hr maximum, most guides get $20-$21. No benefits. No guarantee hours. No help from leadership. They make big promises in on parsing but do not follow through.

Pros

The work itself is transformational!

Cons

Leadership confirms it has no active plan to introduce performance-based incentives for top Guides. Promises made during recruitment phase to increase wages within Guide position were completely walked back and several dozen Guides promptly left company as a result.

Pros

I had some AMAZING times with mindbloom and the company. I celebrate and honor the intention of the company deeply and they are changing a lot of lives which is amazing! I especially like that they have further education opportunities for guides. Plus schedule flexibility is a life savor!

Cons

As a start-up, funding had to go back into the business, and guides (arguably the backbone of client experiences) were left behind in some ways. It also took WAY to long to have BIPAC circles. There are so many "nods" to Indigenous wisdom, of which modern "psychedelic therapy" owes everything, but no credit is given to the guides of the plant medicine world. The top has no Indigenous or any BIPOC in the council and this is felt. I fear for where things can go without proper honor of reciprocity (on multiple levels) in the field of psychedelic care - including here at Mindbloom. I don't think it matters if we are working with synthetic medicines - if we are treating it like indigenous ceremonies but not honoring the system as a WHOLE, we have a problem. And the problem often stems from an individualistic-centered way of being vs an ecosystem-centered way of being.
