Hiring periods followed by redundancies appear to follow one another in a cycle whenever the business faces financial hardship, which is caused by poor planning and therefrom resulting weak resilience to stagnating growth. Laying off staff then comes in as a means to reduce spendings, which paired with short notice periods leaves employees at risk of unexpected redundancy.
