Really terrible work environment, rife with back-stabbing. The owner thrives on chaos and seems to take pleasure in pitting employees against each other. The team has contracted due to the toxic culture, lack of vision, and lack of projects coming in. If you want to grow as a designer, creative director, project manager etc. and care about producing high quality work, look elsewhere.

Momentum’s success has been due to our effective collaboration, internal alignment, accountability, timely and transparent communication, and the synergy of bright, creative and talented employees who support and challenge each other. Being customer-focused in a fast-paced and dynamic environment can create a competitive environment. Competition balanced with collaboration in a meritocracy is healthy. It sounds like a competitive imbalance may have correlated to your negative experience. Unfortunately, it is not indicative of the type of culture we aim to foster, nor, the type of environment we aim to cultivate.
As the CEO/Owner, I would like to hear and learn from your perspective. My door is always open to current and past employees for problem solving, mentorship, career development, references, and/or introductions. I hope that you reach out to me in the future.
Working here will make you appreciate your previous agencies that may have been functional.
Cons
The main problem here seems to be the CEO, who is abusive and does not know how to run a design agency.
The CEO is a bully and has no vision, and then has helpers who are incompetent and don't understand the basics of running a UX shop. When things blow up, the helpers blame competent workers for their own bungles. This is why they have such high churn on the staff. The CEO views designers as the enemy and fosters an abusive environment.

I’d like to thank the poster for their feedback. As a designer who built the agency based on my own successful design career, it saddens me that there seems to be such a misalignment between this former employee’s expectations of Momentum and how we align with the market needs. For over the past three years our designer’s average tenure for current employees, those that leave on their own, or via redundancy is roughly 3 years. We've been fairly consistent with tenure over the past 17 years. As an agency, we’ve consistently been rated as a global top ux agency based on our referenceable customers, consistent and proven methodologies and our long tenure rates in our team. It is my vision to continue to drive high customer satisfaction rates via our impactful strategy and design methodologies. It is a shame that we missed the opportunity to learn from their grievances while they were still with us. I’m always open to feedback so feel free to reach out to me via email or phone.
