Pros

All the free mints you can eat. And motivational posters......lots of motivational posters.

Cons

Monscierge is a "software" company run by sales and marketing people whose goal is to "Change Hospitality" by selling products to large hotel chains. Unfortunately, there's little to no long term product focus, and most of their newly imagined products and features are barely at a Proof of Concept level before they're foisted onto paying customers. Existing products are often just abandoned so that the company's lightly staffed (and increasingly offshore) development team can go chase down the next new thing. Any potential for advancement within Monscierge is extremely limited. The company, while giving lip service to a promote-from-within culture, generally still fills leadership positions with external hires almost exclusively. When internal promotions do occur, they're usually in title only with compensation increases rarely given to anyone outside of the Executive team. Monscierge leadership doesn't deal well with bad news, so there's a tendency to elevate less experienced employees who tend to be more agreeable and compliant into these roles. Additionally, the company has serious issues with nepotism in it's hiring practices. There's some really weird hero worship that's been created around the CEO by some in the company who believe that he's supposed to be the next Steve Jobs. Nothing exists to support that belief other than deluded, wishful thinking, but this has led to Monscierge having a really annoying culture of toadyism that extends throughout it's various departments.

Pros

Literally nothing positive came from my time with this company and I was employed here over a year.

Cons

Management does not understand the technology and has a reputation for lying to customers, then forcing the engineering team to work unpaid overtime to fulfill ridiculous requests. Zero opportunity for real advancement as the leadership team is literally a close circle of the CEOs friends. Nepotism is found through out the organization, including individuals who are completely unqualified being given jobs of high responsibility. This resulted in a major release of personal information and constant failures to deliver products on time. The company is hemorrhaging money monthly, yet the leadership team still treats the company credit card like their personal ticket to fine dining and international travel. Benefits are laughable and PTO is a joke as anyone who is not hourly is forced to work unpaid overtime to fulfill the whims of the leadership team. Additionally, there is a very misogynistic culture and a complete unwillingness to change this. They literally do not have an HR department. Individuals with HR issues (specifically sexual harassment) are instead instructed to take them up with the company's in house attorney.

Could be a great company with some key leadership changes

Pros

Because they are flashy and look cool on paper they are able to hire some great people. Their products could be good if they would focus on their man ones and grow them.

Cons

They chase the quick money EVERY time and the product suffers. Lots of one off custom development. It is very sales driven but not in a healthy way. Sales will promise a lot of crazy things and expect engineering to pull a rabbit out of the hat. The company is financially unstable. They don’t understand how money works. Bills wouldn’t get paid so key services would get turned off. Partners wouldn’t get paid so they wouldn’t finish projects they were supposed to deliver. Good luck finding a happy customer. Engendering never hits deadlines. Customers are overpromised and under delivered. It’s a really toxic place to work. Morale is low. There is a ton of turnover in the IT department. They’ve gone through multiple mass migrations in the last few years.
