Pros

Co-workers are passionate and driven, compensation is great, employees are encouraged to take ample vacation and not to work during evenings/weekends

Cons

Working within government-funded agency can be difficult under current administration, not able to express the social justice mission as clearly in the work.

Good, but evolving

Pros

You work with a group of dedicated, intelligent, fierce, youthful professionals. Everybody is bringing their "A" game and the organization is respected in the public health realm. Employees are given the autonomy to create and cross-team collaboration is encouraged. The culture of the organization is quite liberal (shorts when the temp is above 90 allowed, summer Fridays, teleworking encouraged).

Cons

The change in leadership came with staff turnover (as expected). Recent HR policies have been put in place that make upward mobility and substantial raises a bit harder, when senior management has benefited greatly from previous, more loose promotion/raise policies.
