Sincerely hoping the damage inflicted by outgoing CEO can be healed

Pros

Under appropriate leadership, Be The Match inspired the trust and loyalty of its employees and network partners

Cons

Arrival of new CEO in 2017 brought an unprecedented authoritarian approach in which challenging questions posed by staff often resulted in their termination. This, of course, fostered a toxic culture of intimidation and fear---not to mention massive lay-offs, constant churn, and loss of deep and essential subject matter expertise.

Pros

Mission to save lives.

Cons

I worked at Be The Match for over 7 years. There were times we could have been more innovative in order to help more patients. However, the organization has taken a drastic turn over the last year where it seems to have lost its way. The mission is no longer empowering, but utilized as a form of continual guilt. The turnover both voluntary and involuntary is double to triple that of historical years. People are being handed their severance papers on an almost daily basis for so called performance issues when there is little to no support in the form of performance improvement plans. Then there are other cases like mine where leaders are flat out violating FMLA - telling me they would make no exceptions to the mandate for the upcoming policy change requiring all Minneapolis based leaders to be in the office everyday (no remote work). This would overrule my informal accommodation that had been in place for 18+ months to support my autistic son (did I mention I was also promoted during that time?). When I requested a formal accommodation, I was denied. Further, my direct and indirect leaders would not give me anything in writing to show that my informal accommodation agreement would continue (nor any form of support...only bullying and evasion). The kicker is that my just announced replacement is full-time remote.
