Leadership Lies and Doesn't Meet Promises

Pros

The free gym was one of the reasons I joined this company and stayed fora s long as I did.

Cons

The leadership was 100% fake and had the horrible habit of lying blatantly. They make so many promises to ensure that employees work beyond their limits but never bother to stick to their commitments. You are a fool if you work stressful, brutal, and exhausting hours to make such terrible people happy. Don't do that!

Pros

NewMark Merrill Companies thrives in a team environment. We are like a family. Everyone cultivates strong professional relationships and encourages educational growth in the field (Property Management, Real Estate, Construction, Development) as well as rooting on other team members (employees) in pursuing higher levels in their careers.

Cons

NewMark Merrill Companies is a very fast paced environment and is growing rapidly. In this growth, the companies number of employees has grown slowly. There is a high, and often times, unreasonable expectation of instant work progress, given the flood and overwhelming number of new projects, expanding portfolios and accounts. As the company had grown through the years, the pressure has been on for everyone because there seems to be a lack of desire, from the owner, to hire the necessary employees to cut down on employee burn-out and there is a struggle to keep up morale as a result. It all comes together in the end (of a project, deadline, etc) but at such a high level of stress that if the team wasn't so close and work together so well, there would be a higher level of employee turn-around.

Pros

None. I hope they removed the awful smell first!

Cons

Working here was an awful experience from day one. The office had that weird smell that never went away, and it was bothersome to the point where it felt like my supervisor was completely oblivious to it. I mean, it was like a mix of old carpet, mold , and despair. Not only did the place stink, but the overall atmosphere was equally close-minded. It seemed like no one cared about fresh ideas or innovation, and they were more interested in sticking to outdated methods that clearly weren't working.
