The library has interesting collections and the work environment is very team oriented and not competitive.

Cons

Working here has been honestly terrible. Senior staff is uninterested in changing anything to show respect for employees. They refuse to pay staff a living wage despite multiple respectful and thoughtful pleas. In these meetings the president of the library told staff to "ask their parents for help." Yes, really. I have a Masters degree and take home less than $20,000 a year. Due to this, employees feel unappreciated and morale is extremely low. I would not recommend working here to anyone, unless you're a masochist who wants to reach new levels of clinical depression.

Pros

Wonderful colleagues and working environment.

Cons

Terrible pay, extremely high turnover, incompetent HR, and morale is very low. Someone quits every week it seems. Few opportunities for growth or promotion and wages hover around the poverty line for majority of employees.
