Pros

1) Enough funding to keep the show running for couple of years. 2) Every one appears to have a stellar profile and knows who's who in industry. 3) If you are average engineer else where, you are probably the best the company has ever seen. 4) Less than a handful but they are are fun, intelligent and honest people(one is Srinivas)

Cons

If you are over 40, go to bottom. 1) Vision is a hoax, they know nothing about data analytics. Big Data in their profile is sham. 2) Its a service company providing MicroStratergy reports to its clients. There is no real platform. I have seen undergrads writing better systems. 3) They are cloud company that does not know about availability & scalability, ask them of availability when you meet them. You must hear 2/3 9's, When you join you would realize they cant possibly have more than one instance of their metadata service, which has memory issue. 70% availability would be an achievement. Scalabilty is out of the question, but you would instantly hear nginx on top of several service instances with round robin load balancing(a lie of course) 4) Its a haven for old timers in midlife crisis. You cant stop feeling sad for them. They have no real skill or at least one that is relevant in today's times. 5) Ask them who is the architect of the solution, ask at least 5 people. You will get different answers. One answers that makes me laugh "You could'nt possibly have one architect for such a large product". If you have worked in a real company you will know what I'm saying. 6) They dont have any real customers, it is so because all their 100's of customers are companies funded by theirs VC's. By the way its not hundreds either its a marketing sham. 7) In SaaS world its all about stickiness, if a customer does not stick around there is no money to make. Just another number in your website for investors and job seekers. 8) How many customer issues are fixed in last month in the platform? Nil. MicroStratergy reports plenty. So you know what actually they are doing. 9) Dont forget to ask their understanding of multi tenancy 9) Several engineers are below par. 10) Too many rules, not a startup rather Infosys or Wipro. Over 40? Ignore what is written above. 1) Do you have a job? 2) Do you have these skills? BigData, Dynamic Languages, Architect of large could systems. Ace developer in OOPS languages. 3) Do you think you are ahead of people your age? If your answer to any of the above is Yes, stay away. Also Series C is closed now? how long before Series D? 60M so far to build a MicroStratergy report?

Pros

Unlimited work from home. Work life balance is great. Leave policy is good. Decent hike though not great.

Cons

Too many processes. No startup culture. Too much micro management. Monotonous and repetitive ETL work. No innovation. Though the management claims that its a big data company actually its no where near to bigdata. It does not fall under any category of 4V's in big data world. Following the highly backdated traditional DWH system. People does not know how to use the MPP system. Report are developed using Microstrategy BI tool but the reports are very simple and there is not much data insight in those crappy reports. Though the management claim that its analytics company nowhere there is any data science or data insights.Only few simple aggregated reports. The in house built ETL platform is crappy and in backend its using talend etl tool. Managers never encourage team members to try out new techs or new POC's. Learning is zero. No cutting edge technology or open source contribution. There are too many teams. Salary is below industry standard. Several employees are below average. It does not work like a cloud company. No perks. No sponsorship for attending any analytics conference or seminar. Sr managers have poor data modelling skill and they don't listen to others. Initially the goal is to integrate multiple cloud sources but now the goal is to do data integration using ServiceNow.
