Pros

Great flexible working patterns for care workers. “Contract for services” for care workers - good if you want a stop gap between jobs.

Cons

Higher management are related or in a relationship, this makes it very difficult to seek support. Poor salaries for coordinators. This is an exceptionally stressful role and it is not valued enough. Totally unapproachable and very cold area managers. If your face fits you’re fine, otherwise you’ll be dismissed for “performance” issues however you will not have had supervisions or performance meetings prior to this. I saw this happen to three members of staff. Very bizarre culture, no one feels safe in their job as people are sacked without warning and everyone else knows before the person being sacked. I have worked in more than one branch and have seen multiple staff have breakdowns due to the stress of this company. Too few Carers, too little support, too little thanks for it.

Pros

Free Tea and Coffee sometimes biscuits!

Cons

I did not come from a care background - I was Offered four days of training and then expected to be qualified enough to look after clients with serious conditions and even some that were end of life. on my own in thier own houses. Office staff simply RUDE, more interested in gossiping about carers and even their office colleagues.! They would close the office early all the time Their on call phone would never get answered even in emergency and when it was answered it usually sounded like they were in a bar or sounding half cut. On one occasion when i was doing my update training i came downstairs to the office staff sat together with a bottle of wine!!! I used to give my availability for the whole week days and nights and was only offered two days work even though I was calling daily for shifts and saying i would even work in nursing homes ! There is no selecting carers to train - it seems that who ever applies will get the job - my training course was mostly 20 year olds who needed 16 hours so they could still claim - they had no interest in caring . No quality of staff that the adverts promote. Minimum wage no matter how many years experience you have one lady had been there 4 years had an NVQ3 and still being paid the same as me I was told I had to work all over xmas and when I said I couldn't I was rudely spoken to and told I wouldn't get any more work The office have their favourites!!! Office staff turn over a different face in the office all the time ... and I wont even go in to the office constantly smelling of rotting meat ..? This company really needs to sort itself out and care more for their carers ...!
