Pros

If you’re someone who needs to get their foot in the door and learn skills, NutraBio can be great for you. Due to a constant need of getting things done you will have multiple opportunities to learn new skills and complete projects involving multiple departments. Great way to build up your resume. Some colleagues can be fun and enjoyable to work with.

Cons

Employee Benefits are poor. From when you are employed, you won’t receive health care benefits for 90 days (the norm is 30 days). You won’t be able to use PTO for at least one year after starting (the norm is 60-90 days with a new company). There is no 401k available even though it was promised multiple times during my employment. Lack of leadership and organization leads to a toxic environment. Leadership has a poor sense of planning and their objectives tend to contradict each other which leads to confusion and projects being left undone. Very little progression as the same mistakes and patterns are made constantly. Decisions are typically made with no plan or data to back up them up. Most decisions are based on emotions and what everyone thinks is “Cool”. It is common for an employee to be yelled at or threatened to be fired/written up in the middle of the office or during meetings. People who tend to be the hardest working and most valuable are under appreciated and leave which leads to high turnover. There is a lack of actual titles and roles which typically means additional responsibilities will be thrown at you without proper compensation.

Pros

NutraBio is a great place to get entry level experience in many areas at the same time. For entry level employees in the office, you might have opportunity to move up. Most coworkers are nice.

Cons

Despite being around for almost 30 years this company most of times gives the impression of being a start-up - things are very unorganized and feel like they are being figured out for the first time. Procedures for obvious things are not there or are not followed. The people here will discuss ideas on how to improve things but a large portion of good ideas are never executed. Leadership has talked about how other companies are planning ahead, but we do not – yet this never changes. If changes are made to how things are done, those changes are only temporary and things go back to how they were. Deadlines are constantly missed by months or longer. Any planning is short term and short sighted. It is also not unusual of for people to be yelled at or disrespected in the office or in meetings, specially by managers. Name calling, slammed fists and high school gossip are not out of the question. Massive egos all around. Leadership is also very impulsive both in business decisions (large and small) and specially in assigning blame - very unlikely to accept blame when appropriate and have a tendency to point fingers. They regularly contradict themselves and at times you can have multiple people telling you what to do with no clear indiation of what is a priority. Many things that happen here probably would never occur in larger less micro-managed companies no matter what the industry. This review does not touch on most of the issues here.

Pros

Most coworkers were pretty nice, the products are good, that’s it. There is nothing else nice about it.

Cons

Management is rude and unprofessional, not to mention that if you are a woman, you will not be respected because you are seen as inferior, your professional opinion is just not validated. The CEO and the EVP will just scream at you in front of whomever is around - customers or employees. I believe that their retrograde mindset and micromanaging is the reason that, despite how long they've been around, they're still relatively unknown. There is no such thing as organization, every single process there is a mess and a nightmare. If you try to fix it, they are just so set in their ways, that even if they are wrong, they are too proud to admit that.
