Great Team, Horrible Leadership

Pros

I was lucky enough to work with great people during my time at Octi – we had a very talented, passionate team.

Cons

High-level leadership held unrealistic expectations from the team, lacked the skills to communicate effectively with their employees, and did not respect boundaries. Input from the team about product development was disregarded, as they attempted to impress investors but failed to set the product in a clear direction. Team was expected to work long hours, which included staying at the office well into the night, working on holidays that were supposed to be observed, and working through the weekends. By the time I left the company, team morale felt extremely low (employees were leaving every other week/management began to fire people out of the blue) and many people felt undervalued, despite putting so much time and energy into their work.

Lots to learn, but not worth the mental damage

- Great coworkers - Lots to learn every day (can be a con too) - Fair pay

Cons

- Not hybrid model / Remote - Unreasonable Deadlines - Constantly changing requirements - Executive have zero understanding of the process - Complete lack of professionalism from higher ups

-The learning experience. -The great coworkers around you. -Catered food (even though that isn't going to be a thing soonish?) -Young energy (unsure if this is a pro)

Cons

-No real management -Unrealistic deadlines -No product team -Features constantly being added (almost weekly)
