Pros

This job helps you understand what you do not want. The other recruiters are awesome people.

Cons

Working here feels like a humiliation ritual. The office operates like a weird high school cafeteria with an unspoken social hierarchy between Account Managers and Recruiters that everyone pretends doesn’t exist. Every morning starts with a pointless 8AM meeting, followed by someone being chosen to “send out” the team by standing in front of everyone and yelling forced motivation. Sounds fun right? Not. If you don't do it "correctly" it's frowned upon. If you are excited about it being friday or looking toward the weekend, frowned upon. "Monday is the best day of the week." Ok? Weird. On top of that, if you get a start locked up you have to bang this giant gong in the middle of the office that is not only startling to everyone but you have to high five every person in the office! It’s embarrassing and wildly unprofessional, especially since most people are on calls. Celebrating wins is great but this is not the way to do it. There is something on Friday's called “Power Hours” where everyone in the office crams into a tiny conference room and cold calls while music plays and drinks beer. Again, sounds fun. But it's incredibly overstimulating and unprofessional all together. Not to mention this takes away time from getting subs (your money) and meeting production expectations. The CEO is overly invested in everyone’s personal relationships, pushing the idea that we all need to be friends. This is a workplace so who cares as long as people work well together? Now onto the homework. There is always something. There is always an email to send that recaps a meeting we had that everyone who is on the email, was in. It's busy work. They will make you go to dinners or activities with your Account Managers because again… they are obsessed with the idea of Account Managers and Recruiters being best friends. It's a waste of time. They will give us odd tasks throughout the day to complete that have nothing to do with our actual job and then question why you haven't met your production score. Also, production expectation changes constantly so don't expect to ever be in the loop or successful because you'll never be doing enough. I forgot to mention, they make you take quizzes until your 26th week and they grade you.... sorry? I'm just confused. Is this supposed to be a serious company? In addition, they make you schedule multiple meetings a week (after work hours) with account managers to "roleplay" which is where you pretend to take a phone call with them. And yes, it's mandatory. Everything is always before or after office hours. There is something called “Plus Deltas” where everyone in the office meets after work for two hours and telling each other (in front of everyone) what they have been doing well and what they can work on. I love some construction criticism but this is inappropriate and embarrassing for so many reasons. If you take a job here, be prepared to have zero free time and to have someone breathing down your neck constantly telling you that you are not doing enough. You will make no money in comparison to how much work you are putting in. They say you will earn based on the amount of work you put in but it's a lie. There is zero incentive. They ask for feedback and when you give it to them they say nothing is going to change and that you are not a hard worker. 12 people alone have quit in the past 2 months (and counting) and they still don't get it. I would rather not have a job than work here. All these other reviews are lies from people who respect Lenny or have a partner that works there. They won’t even care about this review. They won’t care until everyone has quit and they start actually losing money. Last I will mention is that this company hires young people with no corporate experience and takes advantage of their lack of knowledge. I hope everyone who is so loyal to this company will see that eventually and go get themselves a real job who values them and their hard work. There is honestly much more I could add but I don't have the time nor the energy as this job has taken both those things from me. Don't work here.

Pros

The coworkers make the work space, found some great friends through OneSparQ

Cons

First lets talk about the pay and how much work is required for 40k base ($19/hr). As a Technical Recruiter you have to do your job AND the Account Managers job, and required to come in at 7:30am and stay until 6/7. If you are to come in any later than 7:30 and leave any earlier than 5pm, you will be scolded and told you aren't a hard worker. They do work events and meetings out of office hours and on weekends. You do not have any work life balance. This is a great company for someone who has no friends. I loved my coworkers but I have friends outside of work and a family that I wasn't able to spend anytime with. When bringing this up to the CEO, he says you can hang out with your friends and family when you retire early. The whole Idea of a 40k base was so you don't get too comfortable but this is the lowest paying technical recruiter job on the market. There is only one path to promotion and it’s as an Account Manager with only a 5k base raise. Again, the lowest paying promoted Account Manager role on the market. Look it up, it is like selling your soul. The roles that you are filling are low paying roles, so your commission is low and takes a long time for you to see any money. Not all recruiting jobs are like this. You can get the same job and culture somewhere else with a higher base. You shouldn't be working a corporate job and be scarping for pennies to buy groceries or pay rent. Second, I want to touch base on having to do things with coworkers on the weekends. When we had a conference we had to do it over the weekend not being paid. On Sunday we got back home at 7/8pm and required to be in office at 7:30am the next morning with high energy after spending 14 days with coworkers. Not to mention, when we were at the conference, lunch was supplied and we were only allowed to have half a sandwich each. Another day, we had to wait 2 hours for our lunch (with only bread and fruit for breakfast) and only allowed to get 7 cfa chicken nuggets with no side (yes, they were counting how much you can take). Then for dinner was pasta and no protein, so we were all starving. It’s giving cheap. Third, they are very discriminating. Multiple times I have found a lights out candidate for a job but they are not even looked at or being talked to due to the color of their skin. Fourth, the account managers look down on you, and there is a clear power dynamic. Instead of partnership, it is a seniority thing. A lot of the Account Managers have been in their role for 3/2 years and they still need the CEO to hold their hand. Not to mention you role-play with the Account Managers after or before office hours and again they don’t know what they’re doing. You are told to talk and act a way and then you role-play with the CEO and everything you are taught he says is wrong. Why are we roleplaying with people who don’t know what they’re doing? Another thing, there is a very inappropriate relationship going on with one of the AM and the CEO. Everyone in the office tip toes around it bc they are both married. A lot of the 5 star reviews you see are from people that don’t work or have ever worked at OneSparQ. For example, a lot of AM’s partners have made reviews posing as workers. There is no care for the workers or candidates. We have candidates going through real life things like loss in the family and management say they don’t care because they want to make money. The CEO has said that he sees everyone with a dollar sign over their head. You are not valued, you are not cared for, there is maybe one person in management who cares for you. There is so much more I can say but I will leave It at this. 12 people had left the company within 2 months. Multiple people before me have also left and we all had the exact same reason. We have Year end reviews to express what we want changed and the CEO said “nothing will ever change”. It is sad, because this company really could’ve been something. The internal Recruiter is the best, and found amazing people. However, with no change, and no one to listen to you, you will start to lose the spark you came in with. The work itself is fine, but again there are so many other technical recruiter jobs that will offer you the same but with work life balance, appropriate relationships, inclusion, and being correctly compensated.

Pros

you'll make great friends with other recruiters and senior recruiters.

Cons

If I could give this company a 0/5 I would. It is an Insight Global copy and paste as well as a wanna be fraternity. During your interview you will be told you'll be making 60k + a year, which is far from the truth. Most employees are barely making enough to afford rent, utilities, and groceries meanwhile the owner just bought a $2 million house. Majority of the reviews (positive ones) are done at work (or by contractors) (or by significant others) to make the rating go up from the real, not so positive ones. To begin, your hours will not be 8-5 it will be closer to a 7/7:30 - 6 at least. This is not voluntary, this is what is expected, even in promoted roles. Work life balance has been brought up to the owner many times and he thinks that there is no issue to be discussed. There are also many required events that are done outside of work hours without pay. One of these "events" is called "plus deltas" where everyone sits in a circle and says one thing they like and do not like about every person in the office. It is extremely toxic and odd to do in the workplace. You will also be doing "roleplays" before and after work with different account managers. It has been brought up in multiple instances that it should be done during the work day, and the owner thinks that is not a good use of work hours (so why are they being done?). Conference is also unpaid, and done over the weekend, getting back Sunday night and expected to be in office at 7:30 that morning no exceptions. This company is also extremely political, with one specific employee doing impressions of donald trump the entire day, but this is the norm for them. There is no diversity in the offices, and they want it that way. There has been many instances when searching for candidates that they will not be considered due to things like their skin color. Continuing on the environment of the office -women are treated extremely different from the men in the office, and there is a very obvious (inappropriate) relationship going on in the office between an AM and the owner. The turnover at this company is absurd for a reason. There have been about 15-20 people that have left in the past few months. You are constantly being put down and told to change your entire personality to fit what they want. If someone reaches a goal, it is the new expectation for everyone. If you take this job you will feel like you're back in middle school. You're constantly managed, watched, and you still have to take quizzes every few weeks. Since leaving I finally have a quality of life, and I suggest if you want one too don't think about taking this job.
