Pros

Working with the people served is very fulfilling. The mission is great and provides opportunities to adults with disabilities that they cant receive else ware.

Cons

Staff are constantly told that the company doesn't have the budget to provide raises, even to staff who have been employee for 10+ years. Programs are cut and classes are given limited supplies because "its not in the budget" . The upper management salaries are posted on the company website because OP is a non-profit (opportunities.org/about-opportunity-partners/financials) on page 8 of the 990. CEO- $228,675 CFO- $162,818 + $24,426 bonus in 2016 EVP of Business Development- $170,420 + $16,704 Bonus in 2016.... Something isn't adding up.

Thank you for voicing your concerns. We recognize the challenges that the disability services sector faces in terms of budget, and we are working every day to advocate for salary increases for our direct support professionals. Our salaries for upper management are included in our administrative expenses. Admin expenses of 10% or less of overall costs is considered a best practice for nonprofits and Opportunity Partners falls at 8.98%, which is quite low for our sector. The "other compensation" amount on our 990 form is not a bonus but does refer to retirement contributions and employer contribution to medical insurance. We will continue to advocate and support our employees in any way we can. Thank you for being a valued member of our team. If you have other concerns, feel free to reach out to our HR department and we would be happy to help. Thank you!

Drama zone, supervisor on the production floor is barely here. Low pay rate and not hopes of raises.

Thank you for your review and for helping us deliver our mission! We encourage you, and all staff, to speak with your HR department regarding supervisor concerns. In terms of pay rates, since our budget is largely influenced by the MN State Legislature, we strive to offer other assistance to our employees, such as opportunities for trainings and internal promotions, as well as great benefits. We also continue to advocate for better wages for all direct care staff and the important work they do. We would love for you to help advocate with us! Learn more at opportunities.org/advocate.
