Pros

To be honest, I am so traumatized by my experience here, I have lost sight of the pros. My peer team members were definitely the one pro that stands out. Despite a very challenging situation due to our manager (see cons), we all worked well together and managed to accomplish a lot of great things. The CEO also seems genuinely nice but I have to wonder how he allows the toxicity and hostile environment that some employees experience.

Cons

If I could rate this below 1 star I would. This is by far the worst place I have ever worked, even factoring entry-level jobs when first starting out. I started off thinking it was nice, the people seem very friendly and the team I worked with was largely great people. Unfortunately, our team was managed by an inexperienced individual lacking even basic social skills. He actively sabotaged any attempts at collaboration and would routinely assign the same task to more than one individual without giving them visibility into each other’s assignments. He provided no leadership to the team and would take any opportunity he could to blame issues on the team while taking credit for any accomplishments the team had done without giving them their due credit. Despite the organization saying they value work life balance, he would routinely send non-essential communications over weekends or when people were on vacation. At his best, he would ignore the team and on bad days he was actively hostile including making inappropriate remarks and harassing team members. When specifically asked by upper management several months in how this manager was performing, I respectfully shared some of my concerns. Unfortunately, it quickly became clear that I would be retaliated against for my candidness, so I learned to stop complaining. Despite many team members lodging complaints to upper management about this individual, no corrective actions were taken and no followup happened. The environment was so hostile and toxic it was physically making me ill. When I finally left the organization, I reiterated my concerns and not only did they still not rectify the situation, but they actually retaliated against other strong and talented team members who had lodged complaints. To make matters worse, I still have not been fully compensated for my last paycheck 2 months after leaving the company. At one time I thought maybe we were just stuck in a bad section of the company due to the manager issue, but no more as I can’t reconcile the hostility towards high-performing employees for raising legitimate, well documented concerns. Based on that level of hostility, I would strongly recommend staying away from this organization at all costs.
