Not a good office environment

Pros

The pay is good, but that is all.

Cons

The company is incredibly decentralized. Each department and division seems to be working against each other instead of working together toward a common goal. Communication is horrible. It's like pulling teeth to get co-workers and managers to respond to email. Email etiquette is horrendous. The number one thing is a lack of camaraderie. Supervisors in the procurement department have a lack of people and communication skills. I've witnessed supervisors calling other employees stupid behind their backs and complaining constantly about their work. Supervisors shouldn't act that way. There are quite a few planners and buyers that have horrible attitudes as well. I think the most frustrating thing is management tends to ignore their outbursts instead of writing them up. The negativity here can be draining. There is also obviously a lack of respect. There isn't any room for advancement. HR at the BSC is a complete joke and tends to allow meetings for petty, unsubstantiated claims. Yet, they don't enforce the handbook regarding the dress code, employee's attitudes, etc.

Pros

Each day presents new challenges and multiple opportunities for growth. Compensation is in line with market, benefits are top notch, life-work balance strongly promoted.

Cons

Challenges and opportunities arise from out-of-control sales demands and out-of-date facility and equipment maintenance. Those who get it done are undermined by those who think they are doing it which creates lots of unproductive conflict for which a customer is not willing to pay.

Pros

Competitive Pay, Some truly good but stressed employees

Cons

We are all under stress, cost cutting, cost cutting, cost cutting....No room for creativity and or productivity, company needs to upgrade the bosses with true leaders who can motivate and inspire.
