Pros
I was inspired by the thoughtful, mission-driven people who genuinely care about schools, teachers, and students. There is strong education experience across the team, along with a lot of empathy for customers and the communities they serve. I built good relationships and learned a lot during my time there. There is no doubt that my former teammates at Otus care deeply about student outcomes, and the product reflects that commitment.
Cons
The only con may not really be a con. Otus clearly prioritizes people from the education world, and I think that is one of the company’s strengths. For those coming from more structured SaaS or high-growth tech environments, there may be noticeable opportunities around scalable processes, customer segmentation, and how different customer needs are prioritized and supported. These areas may stand out more to those with a technical or operations-focused background.
