Pros

Factory workers are great people. Down to earth and very hard working. The employees at other PPC sites are also great to work with.

Cons

I want to preface this by saying that this review is only for the PPC Payson location since it is where I worked exclusively. The location was previously independently owned and was purchased by PPC in 2018 After acquiring the Payson location, PPC kept the same management in place, which in my opinion was a mistake. Senior management in Payson is antiquated in the way they run things. They fought IT tooth and nail for any changes that were proposed to modernize the location. Previous ownership was cheap and often bought second hand PC, servers and switches. They also would run multiple copies of software with insufficient licensing. Payson management bullies and treats IT with no respect. They expect us to do whatever they said without consulting IT management at headquarters in Buffalo Grove. Since senior management had been over IT at this location before the ownership changed, they refused to relinquish any control over us. They felt that asking our direct management at corporate for authorization on buying IT equipment or implementing their harebrained idea was disrespectful to them. After IT management at corporate quit, things only got worse. Payson management would come up with foolish schemes and expect us to implement them in the way they drew up the plan. For example once a director decided that he wanted what he called an "easy button" so that machine operators could open new application windows by pushing this button. He ordered us to purchase buttons that looked like the Staples Easy Button. When we protested that this was a silly idea and that we could find a more sensical way to do this then a clownish red button he quickly ran to senior management who ordered us to do as he wished.

Pros

Fast paced work environment with good benefits. The company is growing rapidly through acquisitions and hiring of new people to help us get product out the door with high quality and on-time deliveries.

Cons

The rapid growth can lead to lean teams, requiring additional workload in short periods than what is standard.
