Pros

- Amazing students who love to learn and eager to do their best! - Majority of parents were supportive and great partners in the learning process.

Cons

- Competition over collaboration mindset and practices among teachers and teams. - Lack of accountability and transparency regarding the co-teaching expectations/structure between Lead and Associate teachers. - Change in leadership was a deal breaker. New leadership failed to create a safe and inclusive space for teachers to grow, learn, feel belonging, and overcome inevitable challenges in a professional manner. - High turnover and burn out rate. - Lack of diversity in leadership and majority of the faculty. Lack of proactive support for BIPOC faculty. - After deep reflection and therapy, this organization was a toxic workplace that ultimately took a heavy toll on health and well being. The moment you realize when leaders disrespect and violate your core values, you have no choice but to leave.

Pros

- Most teachers seem to genuinely care about the well-being of the students - Diverse student population - Recent campus updates

Cons

- Performative values (such as commitment to teachers and students of color, whole-child development, and innovative programming), which are strongly advertised in tours and marketing materials, but non-existent on the ground - Unethical hiring and firing practices (liberal use of NDAs, aggressive and copious warnings against slander and libel in employee agreements) - Lack of diversity in administration, which trickled down into an increasingly homogenous teaching faculty during my time there - High teacher turnover and burnout rate
