Is it still 2008?

Pros

The building is nice and being located downtown is beneficial for me.

Cons

1. The pay. If you make $15/hr at Paradigm you have sold your soul to the devil. By collecting a $15/hr wage I suddenly am indebted to the company in every way imaginable. What is this....2008? The leaders still have the mentality that making $15/hr is a rare thing like it was during the Great Recession. Perhaps if they woke up and realized that most companies are trying to be competitive by paying their employees more and treating them fairly, then they would be able to get great talent. It's a fairly odd conundrum that the company specializes in wealth management and prides themselves on cash-flow principles and a lucrative background.....yet they seem to really struggle at paying their employees. I do believe we are all considered expenses rather than assets in the eyes of the leaders. Oh yeah, and if you ever get a raise for meritocracy here, it is a 3% increase to keep up with inflation. Otherwise, you get lapped each year by inflation costs. 2. The leadership. All of the top tier leaders at Paradigm are awful. Most of the leaders have zero background serving in leadership roles outside of Paradigm, and some of them have less qualifications than the people below them, but they are in the positions they are because they either got in early or they were selectively chosen based on their relationship(s) outside of work.

Pros

I’ll leave this section short because, honestly, there really is not much in the way of Pros.

Cons

After working at Paradigm and trying to keep hope that things would somehow get better, it’s clear that they never will. The top 3 leaders of the company control everything, which I don’t have an issue with, but they are 3 of the most incapable leaders I’ve ever dealt with. They make very poor decisions without any accountability, and the employees are always the ones who get screwed over. This company has not given out any merit increases for the last 2 years because they don’t agree with giving raises. So in a very hot jobs market, I am taking my efforts elsewhere and saving myself any more disappointments down the road. Oh and FYI, the pay here sucks. They pay about 30% less than other jobs of the same nature because they feel their jobs are unique and cannot be compared to other jobs on the market. Well, when it comes to calling leads and doing clerical data entry, it’s very easy to see that the job is very standard in nature. This place is ridiculous and the leaders at the top like to keep it that way.

Pros

Employee's and many dept. heads are fantastic despite a completely incompetent and sadistic senior executive staff.

Cons

You're most likely reading this because you're considering employment at Paradigm Life. Please remember that Utah has a thriving job market, and unemployment is well below the (already low) national average. Any place, every place, you consider will be better than Paradigm Life. This is a terrible place to work. I could keep you here, reading this all day; while I rant about the lies, the senior execs tell their "valued" employees, about promotions or bonuses or raises. It's all crap. Every. Single. Word. That is unless, you've played on the bosses college hockey team, or use the term "bro" and talk about CrossFit as often as possible. If either of these are true in your case... You'll be promoted quickly regardless of your level of competence, or social skill. These execs consistently (as though it's a science) take smart, passionate, well meaning staffers, and over the span of a few months, turn them into self doubting, confused, bitter people... Paradigm Life was the worst professional experience I've ever had. Do yourself a favor and trust this anonymous review. Unless you are absolutely desperate, don't work for this company. It's run by genuinely bad people who will run you into the ground and throw you away like garbage after the novelty of you being "new" has worn off.
