Pros

Good job to start if right out of college, and if you can handle toxicity. Multitude of techniques to learn

Cons

Management only cares about bottom line, and does not care to better themselves. Tasks for chemists grow way outside of job description, then you are reprimanded for not doing those tasks. Favoritism, hard. Say anything negative about the company and you will be feeling those effects for the rest of your tenure, no matter how true they are. Promotion scheme is purposefully designed to prevent you from growing. It requires you to become an expert on a single technique, but work environment does not allow for this as you are constantly being moved away from techniques you are growing accustomed to in favor of filling in the gaps of the people constantly leaving or the needs of the client base. Toxic coworkers, very petty and mean. One person made another cry recently. They do not even work in the same department. This is inexcusable, and there is a culture of fear from retribution from the individual responsible. Management knows these things occur, but they just do not care. High turn around rate due to the aforementioned issues.

Pros

1) Some people care about creating a positive work culture. 2) Occasionally people will bring in treats. 3) Some management can be extremely kind and helpful. 4) Fair benefits.

Cons

1) Owners/top management have a reputation of promising promotions that they do not deliver on. 2) Low employee retention. 3) Major organizational restructuring around April 2024 that saw layoffs and major demotions of high level division managers. This short-term cost-cutting solutions doesn't address the organization's root issue of employee retention. 4) Frequent staff retraining due to high employee turnover. 5) The business has recently experienced major revenue reductions. 6) Employer 401(k) match reaches full vestment after six years. 7) All-hands meetings are lifeless. No advocacy of culture or company mission. 8) Owners will push you to enrich them as they let you go the next week.

Pros

Very small company so you knew everyone for better or worse. The job was different almost every day, so it was never boring.

Cons

Benefits were bare minimum and very expensive. One of the divisional managers had some serious issues, some of which included an inflated ego, chauvinism, and sexual harassment. The company had a culture of bringing in inexperienced people, lowballing their salary, and running them into the ground until they left. This caused the turnover rate to be astronomical. Two of the owners were fairly good people, but the third owner was a hateful man and the reason why people should avoid this company.
