Pros

Some good people there still, if they haven't left already.

Cons

With individual firings, 2 layoffs, and major turn over. You’ll find yourself directionless, where accountability and ownership are never followed through. Immature management all the way to the C-Suite turns a blind eye to the problems of how their company operates and are only looking for a payout through acquisition. Most of the people who cared about the company left or got laid off, the rest are just along for the ride for job security purposes. During a supposed "year of growth," key positions, including the Chief Product Officer and Head of Customer Service, were eliminated, along with the hiring of an entire team of agile coaches, raising questions about their relevance in a startup. Company strategies change frequently, with past initiatives left incomplete. There is zero product growth and direction. Afterwards, the Head of People quits. Monoculture and lack of empowerment towards underrepresented people. There were random boat parties and offshore events during the most critical times. You can literally see where the money burns while you are trying to douse out more internal fires. There have been shady promotions, as favoritism seems to be the name of the game here. Some people who are part of the original first hires have a superiority complex, they talk down on you while they don't even understand how their own business works. The customer success teams are fending off the frontlines as clients are unhappy and frustrated as they don’t see benefit in such an expensive product whereas competitors offer it for cheaper. The company no longer does weekly all hands as there’s nothing to talk about. Team shuffling seems to be forever a thing as new shiny unfounded projects seem to be.

Pros

The company had a really great culture. There were real attempts at inclusiveness and openness. The spirit of collegiality was strong and you could always count on your fellow pancake to be supportive and helpful. Before the money ran out this was a great company to work at.

Cons

Two rounds of layoffs in 3 months is pretty indicative of how its going. Like a lot of companies, they assumed the rising tide of pandemic spending was a mark of them finding product market fit. Now that pandemic spending has calmed, they have no idea where to focus to find growth and change strategy every couple of months. Its becoming clear that leadership is in a “the emperor has no clothes” situation.

Cons

I'm glad people are finally posting reviews about the new culture shift and the COO. I've been considering posting this for over a year and was happy to see someone did. Perhaps this will get the ball rolling for people to share their true experiences about Partnerstack. Awful leadership team from the CEO to the other senior leaders of the company. CEO is completely misguided and handled 2 layoffs horribly. First layoff happened shortly after he announced during an all hands that there would be no layoffs, second layoff which followed a few months later caused major stress and anxiety for all employees. A note was sent out to all employees on Monday that a layoff would be happening the next day, and those impacted would receive an email the next morning. Horrible way to handle this, causing major stress and anxiety for everyone for the rest of the day and evening as we were all expected to continue to do our jobs and business as usual. This is a prime example of how this company is run. Everyone is replaceable to them, they don't value their employees. The COO has no experience and is all smoke and mirrors. I've yet to see any value or positive impact she has brought to the organization, she just talks in circles and uses analogies until she confuses the person she is talking to. Her only claim to fame is being employee number 7 at lyft. The CTO has done nothing to advance the company or product. Unless you're one of the select founding few who have been there for over 5 years, you're absolutely replaceable at any time and not valuable to them. My advice is to run far away from this company.
