The company's systems, processes and general structure are an absolute shambles. It's painfully obvious most of these processes were set up long ago, by one person, and haven't been brought up to speed and streamlined since. There is no drive for anyone to deliver a clean, modern and efficient solution; any suggestions made by staff for redundant things to be made automated by development are instead treated as insubordination.
The management is amongst the worst I've seen; openly e-mailing about and discussing other members of staff in a truly unprofessional manner. As a result, favoritism rules supreme and if you happen to fall outside of that category, you are doomed to fail. Whilst not my manager, there was one chap called Remy who I am amazed has managed to categorically fail upwards, when I never saw him do even a single lick of work, and all the other reviews here have decided to only make reference to him.
The salary was poor for the industry standards at the time (and doesn't seem to have improved much upon checking back) and the amounts you got from a promotion (typically £500 more) were laughable. Those are figures you'd expect to see in the late 90s. The low salaries are "supplemented" with insulting "treats" like ice creams (which the HR department span into a wonderful thing through the company's intranet!) And a weekly fruit basket which disappears as soon as its planted on the table.
They seem to have a drive of bringing in "bright young graduates" to do a very boring, limited job that would honestly better suit the skillset of a 16 year old who has left school to find their first employment. For example, there were some people who joined around the same time as me with MAs or MScs. Naturally, they didn't last long before seeking work elsewhere. Those who do stay seem almost indoctrinated like a cult; parroting dogma such as "I'm a PayStream person", which is just pathetic.
Overall this company was a very low point in my career and I would not recommend it to anyone unless they have nothing else lined up.
