Pros

No pros. Some nice people.

Cons

Don’t waste time here. Over worked and underpaid. No benefits worth getting. Micro managed and they don’t trust anyone.

Thank you for your feedback, we are pleased that you found our team to be friendly. We strive to maintain a culture that embodies our entrepreneurial beginnings and makes Corporate Payroll Services a great place to work. As a company, we manage our assets and our capital as conservatively as possible so that we are able to offer competitive pay and benefits. Our management team makes hard decisions every day and those decisions may not always be supported or understood by each and every employee. One of our core values is "People Matter. Without employees, we have no business. We treat our customers and employees with honesty and respect."

Thank you for the feedback. Turnover is a problem for many businesses, and we are not always exempt from that due to the exacting nature of payroll having to be correct. We wish you luck in your future endeavors.

Pros

You could wear whatever you wanted to, there was no dresscode

Cons

Like one day, a manager literally went in the front of the room, and threatened to fire everyone. The entire room full of people. The reason given was that our department's numbers weren't high enough... Or they'd walk up to people individually (myself included) and threaten us with termination daily, for not setting enough appointments. I never received a write up or coaching or any type of disciplinary action, this all just came out of nowhere. I felt like I had no choice but to quit. Absolutely terrible environment.

We are sorry that you were less than satisfied with your time here at CPS. We hold very high standards for our managers and our employees in regards to professionalism. We are sorry you feel as though you were not given professional treatment. We truly apologize since that is never our intention. Thank you for your honest feedback. Our company continuously strives for growth and improvement in all areas. We really appreciate it and wish you the best in your future roles.

Pros

The people there as human beings are great but the management is terrible and company direction is limited due to those at the top and resources.

Cons

Company is severely handicapped by old outdated systems and compensates leaning heavily on staff friendliness to make up for shortcomings

Pros

Tons of help when you need it. Training is ongoing and there’s a lot to learn. It’s not good if you’re an “order taker” or “wine and diner”, it’s a true sales job. The opportunity is there. It is what you make it. I have not experienced at all what I see some people put on here, and I don’t fully believe most of it. My experience has been great. I get leads (although it’s slow due to COVID) but if you grind it out, cold call, prospect, and work, you can totally be successful here. It won’t just fall in your lap. I make really good money, better than I thought I would so it’s rewarding. Most people don’t ask for help when they need it and shout themselves in the foot by winging it and don’t end up getting closes. ASK FOR HELP and advice. In my experience so far there is no shortage of people who will help answer questions, provide extra coaching and even interact with your clients to help you. They can’t help if they don’t know you need it!

Cons

It’s hard. You get out what you put in, but it’s a grind. You do have to work and work Some people can be really negative when they are in a funk or are struggling and blame it on the job rather than trying to fix the problem. That can be hard to be around sometimes.

Pros

The people that work(ed) at CPS are amazing. Some have years of experience and can work with their eyes closed, others have great attitudes and make you feel welcomed, and a few are engaging and easy to converse with. I really enjoyed my co-workers...and even management...sometimes.

Cons

The major issue at CPS is that it seems as though management has no concern for work/life balance. Customers are, in fact, the number one priority, while the employees seem worthless. There is an expectation to work long hours daily with no compensation. Instead of paying overtime, employees are made to leave early on slow days (generally Fridays). The bonus structure is quite ridiculous and equates to 3 value meals at a local fast food chain per month. Vacation hours are laughable unless you've been with the company for over 5 years. The morale is extremely low, as well. The employees seem to plot their departure silently waiting for the day that they can turn in the almighty resignation letter! The only employees that get breaks are smokers. Leaving your desk for more than five minutes (while not smoking) is frowned upon. Coming in late or staying home to take care of your child(ren) is frowned upon. Happiness is frowned upon. All in all, if you need a job, this is exactly that: a job. No more, no less. There will be no growth, no (serious) wage increases, and no appreciation for your hard work and dedication. *You may meet some amazing people, though...if they haven't all left.

From Doug Tanner - Atlanta Branch Manager Thank you for taking the time to express your thoughts and concerns regarding Corporate Payroll Services. As a customer-centric company, there must be a strong emphasis on providing for the customer, and management here at CPS strives to do so daily without putting too many demands on our employees. We acknowledge that this can be somewhat difficult at times and that we may not have done as well as we could have. We have begun looking into ways to improve employee morale while maintaining the high standards we have set for our customers and are dedicated to finding that balance. We appreciate your time spent with us and wish you the best in all future endeavors.

Pros

Good pay for people that want to work hard. Both quarterly bonuses and annual bonuses far above anywhere I have worked in the past. CEO is a very fair man. He does not hand out bonuses or raises just for showing up, like anywhere in life you have to earn it. But it is worth it. He rewards all those that contribute to making CPS a success.

Cons

Raises and bonuses are not handed out for showing up to work. I know its not like the government. Do not take the job expecting your pay to double in the first 6 months. The pay is fair to start with, so do not accept the job if you think it will double for showing up.
