I have been working at Peninsula full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I have been with this market-leading company for only a few months and have received first-class training, realistic and achievable targets and consistent support and encouragement at every stage. Since my second month I with Peninsula I felt as though the management team saw potential in me, and they have pushed me to over-achieve in a constructive way. From the Associate Director Monica Sharples down to the team managers...

    Cons

Not much to criticize - it's a culture that is not for the fragile, but the rewards are fantastic!

    Advice to Management

Keep on driving the teams but also don't stop the support and empathy.

I have been working at Peninsula full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Plenty of tea/coffee breaks.. once you get the job done Recognition on doing well from directors to managers alike Unbelievable work trips where we’ve been spoilt by the best hotels free nights of drinks food etc And hanging with the biggest and brightest Excessive targets keep you in line may be a pain at times but they’re tolerable Been there for too long at this stage but I’m pulling in over 70/80k and for the...

    Cons

New targets are a stress less money for the same reward Now can’t complain getting 6k+ a month but still come one up it to 3% after 20 deals a month and that’s fair

    Advice to Management

Recognize the newer staff on smaller wins and the retention will grow Don’t bring them into to ball busting sessions Don’t be a Michael, and if a staff members doing well make the most of it, Also promotions or this leveled scheme needs to hurry

I have been working at Peninsula full-time

    Pros

On starting with Peninsula more than 5 years ago, it seemed like the company to be with, getting additional perks due to length of service, work hard and get the rewards, then it all stops, no pay increase.

    Cons

Peninsula employees have to rely on referrals to make any difference to their pay, as in all the tome I have worked for the company I have not received 1 pay increase, not even to cover the cost of living.

    Advice to Management

Try to reduce staff turnover by giving at least a cost of living increase every now and again.

    I worked at Peninsula

    Pros

Good experience to a range of employment law and HR issues Friendly staff and atmosphere Transparent and clear incentives for promotion

    Cons

Intense workload, pressure to do overtime, graduate training fee of £1200 if you leave within 2 years of joining

    Advice to Management

Look at waivering the training fee if someone has to leave for mitigating circumstances. If the fee is there to prevent graduates training and then leaving, look at graduate retention and increasing the starting salary to reflect the calibre of graduates. Whilst excellent training is provided, this company does micro manage you and expect far too much by way of presenteeism. There is pressure to do paid overtime to...

    Pros

I’ve unfortunately had to resign from my field based position due to personal reasons but I cannot leave without saying what a wonderful employer Peninsula are. For such a large company they really do care about you as an individual and the support and understanding I have received from my Regional Manager, well I will never forget it. I worked at Peninsula full-time for less than a year

    Pros

An organisation with great potential based on recruiting the right leaders for the Glasgow office. The training staff & the relevant courses & learning resources available are fantastic. I did meet some wonderful bright & passionate staff members in the Manchester & Glasgow offices. I think Peninsula have a lot of talented individuals working there.

    Cons

My contract was breached. I was underpaid & when I challenged it, the issue was never rectified. Instead of an apology I received complete lack of accountability & deflection. The 2 line managers I had were extremely egotistical, rude, self absorbed, insensitive, non-transparent & unapproachable. I have never came across such characteristics from leadership in my working career. I had to take time...

    Advice to Management

Care about your staff. Detach yourselves from your egos & process and policy driven mindsets & treat each staff members and their circumstances as individuals. You CAN still achieve fairness & consistency this way. Unfortunately so many companies get this wrong. Not just Peninsula. Ive witnessed these cultures, behaviours & mindsets over & over again. Applying positive reinforcement, adaptability...

I worked at Peninsula full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The training and learning and development staff are great

    Cons

The company in itself is probably a really great company to work for as long as you aren’t in the Sales department on that dreadful floor six! The atmosphere is awful to the point where it is constant negativity surrounding you which is not what you need when pitching especially the shouting to “STAND UP!” And constant bickering swearing across the floor made by “Senior” managers to team managers. Advice to Management

Actually speak with your staff with some respect and not like your some prison officer/school teacher and so many people would probably not leave...in three years here I’ve seen 80% of staff turnover and a lot of resignations is due to poor management.
