Pros
Upward mobility is possible in support departments. Diverse workforce. Many positions are remote. I've had great bosses at every position I've held and really felt valued by those in positions of authority.
Cons
I really like my boss and my teammates. Most of my cons are with our company's incentive structure, or lack thereof. Due to my team's relatively small size, we are typically overloaded with work. Bringing in one or two more people would really help. Lack of financial incentives like raises, bonuses or 401k matching. No performance reviews. Sick time accrual is very limited. Would be better if we could accrue double the current limit because we currently can't cover much if we need surgery or any other extended illness/injury-related absence.
