We are glad you see the company as good place to start a career without experience, as there are very very few places that offer such an opportunity. At Pernix you probably started as an apprentice and every apprentice signs an scholarship agreement because that's what we provide to an apprentice that is learning not a salary... our apprenticeship is an internship that still gets lots of the benefits of our office like free lunch, naps and opportunity to learn. We will work harder in the future to make that distinction more clear.

Pros

- Launch everyday if you are at the office for at least 6 working hours - 20 minutes to take a nap - 15 minutes to take a walk - Flexible schedules - Paid gym or any classes - Free cookies - Wage is good as employee

Cons

- It is FALSE that they don't have revenue from apprentices. - It is likely to not get paid if you are an apprentice. Since in some cases the company freezes it for not writing a blog or writing a message at the end of the day - You have to bring your own computer and I want to be clear with this since other reviews are not clear. 1 - There are old Macs in the office that you can use. They are slow and the peripherals are broken so you OBVIOUSLY will like to use your own laptop. 2 - Pernix finances a Mac laptop only. - Internet is slow. Less than 100 Mbps is slow if you consider that there are 20 at the office trying to videocall, watch videos, download packages, etc. - You will not get paid half hours. - Periods to get hired can take years - Parking is limited

We always appreciate reviews, it seems like this one comes from an apprentice that received a scholarship subsidy and not from a current employee; we are sorry we could not provide an employment opportunity which go to our best candidates. The scholarship comes from following rules like reports and write blogs. We don’t experience internet problems and have a T1 link of 100MB, it seems this person is misinformed. A client will be nuts to pay for a team of two student apprentices with no experience to develop a product ; our scholarship guideline is here https://www.pernix-solutions.com/apprenticeship_program parking space is unlimited in Terramall and we are sorry that the reviewer doesn’t like to walk the 200 meters. The MacMinis all have 8GB of ram from 2017; apprentices are welcome to BYOD as many other tech companies have embraced it, all our equipment is functional and in use by current apprentices. We continue our commitment to grow professionals with experience from our apprenticeship model with the help of unfunded startup and companies that let us build their project with inexperience students

The company don't have computers so you have to use your own laptop. The company offers to buy you a computer and then you make the payment to the company, Some people are agree with that but you have to remember that is your laptop and has a product life is yours and in failure or any problems it can be a problem. Infrastructure the company need to increase basic needs for the employees for example you can't use media streaming for check a video for a explanation or listen music, because you're going to receive an email from the manager because the internet it's not good enought and another services are very poor in the office, example car parking. There are not clearly limits between professional and personal the manager, there are rules that don't apply to everyone and in somecases you can perceive a clear division in the company. The company don't have mechanism to give feedback to your manager and some times it's very difficult if you have problems with him. The apprenticeship programs needs urgent improvement or remove it completely, the students receive a very very low payment and sometimes don't. And the company get revenue from this questionable behavior.

We appreciate all feedback that is objectively and shows accurate information but unfortunately we cannot agree with the review because 1. There are plenty desktop state of the art Mac’s available for use and actually unused; however we do encourage the BYOD to boost productivity which we finance as a benefit. 2. The company pays for a dedicated 1.1 fiber link that is used for video conferencing meetings with team members and clients unfortunately not for other purposes as we encourage pairing and team work. 3. There’s plenty of empty parking assigned exclusively to Pernix and hundreds of parking spots for the office building; so the asseveration on parking is wrong. 4. Our playbook (procedure manual) clearly shows how to provide feedback using an anonymous form, unfortunately the reviewer might have not read or remembered the procedure. 5. The company has not received feedback on the award winning apprenticeship program we run that allow us to follow our vision of “creating software professionals that bring economic and social benefits to our country and region”’we take it very serious and try to make sure everyone is on board with the program that takes students without experience along with senior employees to create prototypes and products for startups, entrepreneurs or intrapreneurs with little or no funding. It makes no sense that the company makes revenue as no respectable client will pay for inexperience students; they help us form the apprentices into true professionals, so finding opportunities for the apprentices is very difficult. 6. Finally the asseveration that students get very vey low payment is not true as they get a good stipend for transportation and leisure (lunch is at the office) years ago our program was an unpaid internship (very popular worldwide) but we decided to provide an stipend to our apprentices. 7. We asked our operations and finance manager for any outstanding stipend due to our apprentices and could not find any. We regret the feelings of the reviewer but appreciate the opportunity to provide our information.
