Pros

• There are some genuinely good and passionate people working here. These people are creative, talented, passionate about their work in spite of their workload, and strive to do better than some clients deserve. • Decent roster of brands to be exposed to and work on (F&B, fashion brands, telco, etc.) • Hybrid, 3 days WIO, 2 days WFH. Work hours start from 10-6. *Flexi arrangement. • Company provided device/laptop. • 16 days leave (a bit more than standard). • Decent/higher than avg pay (if you're coming in newly). • Yearly company trip. Generally they will try to stick to countries outside of Malaysia. • Chances of raising your salary is high, amount can be fought for as well, provided you can back it up with your work & leads vouching for you. • Tries to maintain a 'working family' sort of vibe. You get the feeling that you'll be closer to some of these people than you normally would in a working capacity. Depending on you, this can be a good thing. You will have people who claim that they love working in PE. This is true. You will also have people who claim that they have checked out and want to leave, but can't/won't due to personal issues or they're too comfortable here. This is also true. *Flexi with conditions. See cons.

Cons

• Some people are working here because they're just there for a job. Normally, this is fine anywhere else. But this is a creative agency. This leads to complacency and lessens the requirement to think outside of the box. The overall quality of work goes down, and is less of a challenge if you relish in solving problems creatively because the benchmark is lowering over time. • There are also some genuinely questionable people working here. Maybe it was due to the urgent hiring period, but some current employees were not vetted properly, deliver subpar work, and yet are seen more favourably. Why? They socialize better, and know who they should socialize with. • Which leads me to my second point, politics. This is a company which claims to have little to no politics. Unfortunately, unless you fit into a certain 'criteria' of theirs, you can be viewed poorly. This may leak into the way your work ethic is viewed, hard work discredited / shrugged aside, or general higher expectations of you without the compensation or acknowledgement. • PE is not as 'flexible' as it claims to be. The idea was, if you put in OT hours past 7/8pm, you are supposedly allowed to come in later the next working day, provided you inform your lead. This is rarely, if ever, practiced. • When covid/influenza season was going around, we still had to go to office. Sure, the office was sanitized regularly, but that did little to help the spread. It took not once, but two times whereby an entire team almost went down before we were all allowed to WFH for that duration. • Almost half of the company down meant unable to meet deliverables timeline. It meant other people needing to cover for those who are sick. It meant leading to burnout. • General imbalance of work. You have people who would stay back, OT for almost half the working week with no compensation. On the flip side, you also have people who cavort around the office most days, clock off early/on time. • Overall management short-sightedness. Some issues crop up over and over again, but due to the myopic view the leads and management have, it's easier to stick bandages on a bleeding wound than to tend to the root of the issue.

Pros

-Generally nice people there -the founders are really kind and generous - An agency with a lot to learn but not somewhere you would want to stay long term - Great office

Cons

#1 the people - PE's core strength is it's people. you get really nice people there but you get very very dispicable ones as well (both in working level and upper management). You have gossip mongers (who are not doing their job and always seem to have time on their hands to spread gossip), you have people who throw others under the bus, and certainly a handful of ppl who are not pulling their weight. -there's a lot of internal groups here. You have mini groups everywhere and everyone is always gossiping about each other. Some of these people have WAY too much free time. #2 working structure -You have some people who have crazy OTs and then you have some that are too free. And it's a roll of the dice on which you'll be. - When one department doesnt pull their weight, other departments (or their respective leads) have to cover on their behalf. Instead of being accountable, these irresponsible ppl are allowed to get away with it because they're coddled by their own leads - but this can be said with the leads themselves as well (protected by management). -there's a disparity in the way different departments manage their team. One half leads their team with the highest of quality and accountability, and the other doesn't really care. This disparity means that the former needs to take on extra responsibilities to cover for others and sometimes this gets REALLY out of the jobscope. #3 leadership -while the founders are generally nice people (they are, really) but i personally think they need to step up. It is quite known that they tend to give people way too much leeway when it comes to work quality (to the point that #2 goes out of hand). It is also known that they are not the type that would "fire" people. Hence, irresponsible ppl there have no fear of consequences. -Official reviews are one way only, Superiors to juniors. there is no way to formally review your superiors. -not really flexible. When management says that the working arrangements are flexible, it is really not. When influenza/covid hit the office, it had to take an entire department to be sick before they took it serious and let us WFH. Then those departments that are hit have to cover for the sick colleagues resulting in a lot of burnout. a problem they could have avoided if they took the sickness seriously when it started. #4 the work - apart from people who are irresponsible, you will definitely get people who are really not capable at their job. So don't expect to come in with ambitions to create "really good work". you'll find a handful of people who are really good at their job (you'll love working with them if you're lucky enuf), and then you'll find the rest at the end of the other spectrum - those who are there just for the bare minimum. -the majority of the client-facing teams are just there to pass on messages from clients. Conclusion: - for anyone new in the industry, treat this as a stepping stone. learn then ciao. because if you're staying, that means you either "dgaf and become part of the problem" or you're constantly facing issues with people because you're trying to solve a problem or just trying to survive. -this is not a place to expand your portfolio. because ppl are not pulling their weight, you wont be able to do things you want to do.

Pros

Finally revisiting Glassdoor, as I didn’t feel the need to anymore since I finally feel secure in a company. The culture here is unbeatable, with friendly colleagues, a comfortable working environment, and one of the most outstanding and creative bunch of people I’ve ever met. The level of empathy and dedication the management puts in for every single individual is exemplary, and it makes coming to work extremely easy.

Cons

Insane amount of work, but with the level of connections within colleagues, it almost feels like you’re having fun whilst being tortured mentally by needy clients. + Everyone here is extremely talented, get ready to fight for your place here cos you won’t regret it, it’s so worth it.
