Pros

The pay was good, the owner was willing to throw money at any problem. Paid overtime. The owner spends a lot of money on the latest technology, like new printers and computer hardware.

Cons

During any kind of holiday season or rush, you are expected to be there 60 hours bare minimum. The real committed people would put in far more than that. If you didn't want to come in on Sunday, comments threatening your job security would be made. Holiday rushes last for more than a month depending on the holiday. Work begins at 6:30 am. On two occasions, I was very sick and the management wouldn't let me leave. No matter what your job position is, everyone is expected to do warehouse tasks as well, such as packaging items to be shipped. So if you're done with your work it's warehouse time. A large portion of this company is made up of family members. There is a lot of special treatment and family in-fighting. The owner called a family member "a cancer that needed to be removed from the company" in front of his whole staff, including the person's mother.

Pros

Nice, clean warehouse, great amenities, used to have fun employee activities until they were cancelled to save money, great health benefits.

Cons

People are constantly getting fired to save the company money, but the company is growing and has increased profit significantly every year. Fired people are rarely replaced and if they are it is often by a friend/family member of the owner. The owner is rarely in the building and is constantly taking away employee perks such as luncheons, contests, etc. that help boost morale. Morale is extremely low because people are fearful of losing their jobs on a daily basis. Employees have been told that cameras have been installed in secret areas of the building, making them fearful and paranoid. You also are required to "volunteer" to work in the warehouse during holidays, and if you are salaried you can work upwards of 40-60 extra hours during a holiday season doing manual labor (on weekends and weekdays) without compensation. Often hourly people who work in the warehouse full-time are sent home, cutting into their pay, while salaried people who work in the office are forced to stay hours after. If you for some reason cannot work on a "volunteer" weekend for personal reasons or you complain about the hours, you will be fired.

Pros

The company offers free coffee (decaf and regular) along with tea to all employees. They also have a cafeteria and refrigerator for all employees to use daily! Some employees get chairs while working, which really helps back support during those 12+ hour shifts.

Cons

Most people in management positions are friends of the owner. Example: The guy hired to calibrate screens and printers now has two offices, unlimited electronics and toys. He is also able to hire unlimited family members and friends to work in all positions, even though they are uneducated. The funny part is, no one has ever actually seen this guy get work done! Meanwhile, the people who really work hard and have earned their positions, have to keep proving themselves! The amount of friends and family members of friends employed there is ridiculous. If you are an outsider, you probably do not stand a chance.
