Pros

There are no benefits now that this insurance company is no longer partenered with synchrony. The upper management is ruining the company and stripping away benefits and morale. I would read all of the reviews before applying for a job here. And ignore the fake five star ones that are clearly planted.

Cons

Vague rules that bend and shift with every manager you talk to Lack of consistency in training so that you are forced to fail and get audited for low performance but when you ask for help managers go ghost or tell you to research it yourself Low pay compared to other companies Boast transparency but HR will ignore emails and upper management will give vague answers unrelated to your question or speeches about putting the company before your own wellbeing Passive aggression and manipulation to make staff afraid to use their benefits such as paid time off holiday and vacation because they want us to put the company first. This is very different than the hiring values they lure you in with. Basically they encourage burnout or else you’re always afraid of being fired. They share performance items with your whole team which creates awkward tension between peers because everyone is just trying to stay afloat but they want you to be the “best” so you are not really able to develop healthy relationships with other staff They hire parents and then get mad when people have to parent or have child care emergencies. Have never seen this type of animosity in a workplace before. Micromanaging tendencys but no idea what managers actually do all day. They don’t work on claims or assist in any day to day duties like a normal manager would. Processors are told to put quantity over quality and if you take too long to focus on being accurate you are considered a burden and not efficient in your position. Is that not a bad message to put out to staff especially when we handle financial stuff?

Pros

Used to be the best place to work, and the most compassionate leaders.

Cons

The CEO responsible for the downfall of Nationwide Pet Insurance has now led to the decline of another top pet insurance product. They recently laid off the entire sales department while showing pictures of their annual family golf trip in the tropics, which was seen as deeply unfair. Employees, who contributed significantly to the company's success, were left without thousands of dollars in severance pay, and the remaining staff are experiencing diminished morale in every corner. The pay is terrible for needing to be licensed in all 50 states and you get no help from anyone on how to do your job, including management.

Pros

none to share since being acquired by IPH. pay and benefits were good under Synchrony

Cons

Consistently promotes and puts incompetent people into management positions Management is unhelpful and unknowledgeable, offers little to no assistance and are often completely unresponsive When errors or things that are not working are brought up, they are consistently ignored by upper management Frequent changes in policies/procedures with no communication regarding this to those who need to know in order to do their day to day job HR either lies, flat out ignores you, or is condescending IPH promised no changes for 2024 after acquiring Pets Best, then starting laying off entire departments 6 weeks later CEO Melissa Gutierrez blatantly stated in a meeting after layoffs that it was done so there’s enough money for her and the CFO’s salaries Got rid of the entire sales department to get customer care to take those calls for less than 1/2 the pay (sales made $100k+ yearly)
