      This place is a disaster

      Free healthcare and remote work for non corporate employees

      Lack’s sustainability. The Leadership GIVES EMPTY PROMISES. There was a huge lay off in October and we were told that the remaining employees were safe and that we had enough capital to float the remaining team members until December 2023. Today was another massive lay off. Some of the team members that were spared were spared because of politics and personal relationships. Hard working individuals who helped carry the company were let go. Sad to see. New leader rules by fear and an iron fist and many employees are afraid to speak out. Human Resources are notorious for letting confidential conversations slip. Nothing is confidential. If you are still here run as fast as u can. It’s only a matter of time before it’s ur turn at the chopping block.

      Not going to lie, last year was tough and it took us a long time to work up the courage to respond to this. Which is to say: this person was very right about a few things. We made some real mistakes in setting expectations at the end of 2022, and it took us a while to learn from them. We are trying to do better, but feedback like this helped us gut check. That said, here we are 12 months later, still standing, with another round of funding under our belt, having rehired those folks we could from those lay-offs. That doesn't make what happened right, but we are trying to do better.

      Brilliant Team, Stellar Exec Leadership

      Pros

      I've spent time at Fortune 500s, well-funded startups, and bootstrapped disrupters, and I've rarely (if ever) encountered such an intelligent, well-led team. I'm inspired by the company's audacious vision and consistently impressed by the intellectual rigor and ego-free openness my teammates bring to daily discussions about how we should get from A to B (or Z). 'Always act with ownership' is one of the team values; I've seen that idea used as a cudgel in other organizations, but here it means, 'We trust you to act in the best interest of the company, and you have the freedom and autonomy to make your own decisions.' That's not a sentiment from upper management you run across every day...

      Cons

      For someone who loves the fast-paced, 'woah, every day delivers a new challenge!' vibes of a startup, Picket delivers the goods in pure form. If a little ambiguity, occasional fire drills, and continually evolving priorities aren't your thing, best to look elsewhere.

      Great company that lives up to its values

      Pros

      - Team is very supportive and friendly. Felt welcomed on day 1 and ramped up very quickly due to my manager's and mentor's support - Great tech stack led by a very strong CTO (early Amazon tech leader) - Many tech companies have values, but Picket truly lives them. They are on the wall and I regularly see examples of Trust, Ownership, Customer Focus, and innovative thinking - Very accessible executive team

      Cons

      As is the case with many high-growth startups, there is quite a bit of work to go around, so sometimes you have to step in and do a job that "isn't in the job description"
