Pros

There is a ton of room for growth here and someone with very little experience can find themselves in a senior position within 2 or 3 years. That being said you will probably have at least 2 or 3 complete emotional breakdowns during that period. It was not uncommon to find someone crying at their desk. Other Pros: -Dogs in the office -Coworkers are generally friendly and supportive -Management is friendly if you stay on their good side -The products are fun and interesting -You will never need to buy socks again

Cons

The core group of employees is very tight knit and very few "outsiders" have succeeded here. The turnover rate is high and if you don't fit in you will be pushed out. There is also an alarming lack of diversity here despite being located in one of the most diverse cities in the country. This lack of diversity further cements the cult culture that exists here. Other cons: -Low pay/ pay disparity -Lack of work life balance -Never fully able to disconnect -Using vacation time is frowned upon -Lack of privacy and personal space -Lack of perks compared to other sales jobs -Lack of effective and decisive management -Lots of flip flopping on rules and policies -Many meetings that should have been an email

Pros

The company is young and entices you with its laid back culture, dogs in the office, etc

Cons

The CEO and President do not coordinate well. Everything must be done with their approval in mind. They can swoop in and veto whatever you're doing at any moment. They have "entrepreneur syndrome" where they haven't learned to let go of this company yet and let their employees actually do their jobs. The CEO is a wonderful person who really tries to get to know you and how your working style is.

Pros

Everyone is super friendly, knowledgeable and you really feel like you’re working in a big team toward the same goal - people rarely overstep boundaries or get in the way of each other.

Cons

Loyalty is not a factor when it comes to Pop! Promos. They don’t care if you’ve worked there for 4 years or moved across the country - I’ve seen them terminate employees without more of an excuse than ‘budget cuts’. Don’t let the fake smiles, and the smoke & mirrors of their ‘family’ fool you - everyone there seems to be replaceable and you’re as good as a stranger afterwards.

Pop! Promos Response

On behalf of the entire company, we are sorry to hear of your negative experience at Pop! Promos. As one of our core values, we take pride in our team-oriented culture and our dedication to the success of each and every employee. To hear that you did not feel this way during your time with our company is unfortunate. We focus on candid conversations with employees to ensure we are on the same page during employee’s quarterly conversations - all employees are given the opportunity to receive candid feedback on their performance. If an employee is not “living up to the bar,” we put them on a 90 day improvement plan to get the employee back on track. It is very unusual that an employee be released from the team without notice. As we continue to grow our team, it is our goal that every team member knows how appreciated they are. Thank you for your feedback.
