Great Place to Work

Pros

PCNA offers a warm and welcoming environment for employees to thrive in. The hybrid work model is one built on mutual trust which is a huge plus. Coworkers are all more than willing to lend a hand when you have a busy work week. Rarely do I work over a 40 hour work week. Everyone is genuinely trying their best to serve our members and employees with the utmost level of care.

Cons

No parental leave/short term disability policy

Supported and Encouraged

Pros

- Staff are encouraged to develop new, creative ideas that will impact their position as well as the future of the organization - Staff feedback and opinions are taken seriously and considered when making final decisions - Weekly meetings available with CEO to brainstorm different avenues to explore and touch base on progress of projects - There are many aspects that are part of a membership organization and input from all staff is encouraged on how to make all of these parts fit together the best I honestly have never worked in such a supportive environment. To feel heard, that my ideas and opinions matter, means a great deal to me and my career goals. Before I started there was a high turn over rate. This is a small office and personalities can clash. Thankfully we now have a dedicated team that is respectful of one another and works very cohesively together.

Cons

- The office space is beautiful but can sometimes be noisy due to street traffic. - Because the office is so small there is little room to advance into an entirely new position, however, you have the ability to evolve your current position to encompass whatever goals you set - Very active board which can be both a pro and a con at times

Not a pleasant place to work.

Pros

Downtown location is nice.

Cons

Expectations are way too high, you do the work of several people and due to regular turnover you unexpectedly take on other unrelated roles. Additional compensation and benefits were promised when I joined, but not given. I felt bullied by upper management and have never worked for a CEO that seemed to care so little about the staff and blamed all problems on staff. No room for growth. I tried to leave as soon as possible and would not go back. It was the most grueling and least rewarding job I've ever had.
