I worked at Primark part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Management at my store were all really good and friendly, who cared about their staff. Store manager was often out on the shop floor etc when in other retail jobs I've had managers were always in their offices, so this was a nice change and was not as much feeling of hierarchy. They were very understanding when I needed time off to go home for Christmas, also put up the pay while I was there too. Met lots of really nice people working here, and there are opportunities for internal employment.

    Cons

Have to work extremely hard, and is very fast paced compared to some other jobs I've had, always very busy! Customers can also be very rude to you because they think everyone is stupid but I worked with a lot of people who had degrees and were highly educated/intelligent. Some supervisors weren't as understanding about you not being able to work excessive amounts of overtime (I worked part time alongside uni) and they would get annoyed if I couldn't work, think they were under quite a lot of pressure from managers though. Also - no discount except from in December where you get 10% off at Christmas

    Advice to Management

None really, except maybe better communication with supervisors. Maybe more rewards/incentives for staff?
