Best Software Company In Philadelphia

Pros

Wonderful co-workers and amazing pragmatic management. The 3 founders are very approachable and really care about their employees. The whole company takes being the best software engineering company in the Philadelphia area very seriously and the consistent use of good practices like test driven design, pair-programming, and agile management really reflect that. The pay and benefits are great. Working at Prompworks is the most productive and sustainable job I've ever had. Also, it's a great place to consistently improve your skills if you really care about being a top-tier software engineer.

Cons

While the office space is lovely, modern, filled with natural light, and in a great location, the bathrooms are in the older separate part of the building and are dark, old, and very stuffy.

Pros

To put it simply, PromptWorks really values their employees. Everyone who works here is incredibly smart and talented, and management trusts them to do their job. The culture here emphasizes collaboration, quality, agile development, and a great balance of work and play.

Cons

Since clients and product owners are encouraged to collaborate and, essentially, join the team, some clients have a tendency to manage their own projects. This isn't always bad, but it has the potential to undermine quality and efficiency.

Pros

It's a bunch of smart, kind people who love what they do. It's been a wonderful opportunity to learn and play with fun, new technologies.

Cons

PromptWorks' clients are occasionally demanding and require some hand-holding through the software development process. As a software engineer, I do a lot of pair programming, which I love, but others may not.
