I worked at Provident Bank full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great benefits, low health care premiums, occasional free gifts from corporate.

    Cons

Where do I begin? Recently left my position with this bank, and feel like I am suffering from PTSD. The branch I worked in can only be described as a toxic work environment. There was a lot of favoritism, backstabbing when it came to sales, gossip, and unfair scheduling. If management decides they don’t like you, you’re basically screwed. My supervisor was condescending, rude, always speaking another language apart from English that only some employees could understand, and a pro at micromanaging. You’ll be questioned just for going to the bathroom outside of breaks and criticized for arriving one minute late in the morning (in fact they want you to arrive 10 minutes early but not put that on your time card). And reaching out to HR will do you no good. They act like they’re going to address the issues, but never follow up with you, ultimately siding with management. Instead of addressing a problem head on, it’s swept under the rug. Don’t bother applying here, there are much better places to work, unless you enjoy being miserable every single day.
