Pros

- Interesting and innovative work - Everyone is very smart and motivated

Cons

- Toxic environment and leadership - No work/life balance - Unclear path to promotion - Leadership plays favorites and only select opinions matter - Low pay + poor benefits compared to industry standard - CEO + President struggle with empathy and only focus on driving sales no matter what the cost - Does not live up to values

Thanks for your feedback - we appreciate it, and I'm always happy to meet with former employees to hear directly about your experiences at pymetrics. Glad to hear you thought your colleagues were smart and motivated and the work was interesting and innovative- we think so too! But, I'm sorry to hear that you felt leadership/culture was toxic - we pride ourselves on having a culture where feedback is shared regularly - both up and down - in town halls, emails, slack, zoom, etc. There are multiple opportunities to give feedback to our founder, President and other members of the leadership team who take it very seriously. We believe strongly in work life balance, and support it through unlimited vacation in the US, and a generous holiday allowance internationally, recharge days for employees throughout the summer, and competitive pay and benefits we regularly review. You're right - empathy is important and something we hope we express to all our employees - I'm sorry you didn't feel that while you were here - that must have been tough. We're always striving to do better. Thanks again for the feedback - we wish you all the best. Jenn Perez Chief People Officer

Pros

The purported mission. Some genuinely intelligent and caring colleagues.

Cons

It's tough to really put pen to paper. Where do I start? It's interesting that the company notes they take feedback seriously on this site, but if I know this company the way I do the culture hasn't changed. Leadership claims to take feedback openly, but you're either too scared to voice out your concerns in fear of backlash (as based upon prior experiences) or if you are honest, they take no action. It's almost like you're screaming at the top of your lungs only to have those cries fall on to deaf ears. There’s also rampant favoritism. You’ll get far in this company in spite of knowledge or experience if you’re favored by the right people, namely the executive team. Especially the two at the helm. It’s debilitating working every day knowing this fact because you’re often painted into a corner to do things to maintain the status quo even if you know substantively and commercially - it’s not the best decision. Echoing everyone’s points, this company is very sales-driven. Understandably that is to be expected from a start-up. But there are absolutely no boundaries - if a sale needs to happen, the teams will do anything to close the deal without really considering the various impacts across the business. And when the deal’s closed, they leave the client teams to clean up the mess. To clarify, I worked for Pymetrics before the COVID impacts.

Thanks for your feedback - we appreciate it, and I'm always happy to meet with former employees to hear directly about your experiences at pymetrics. We're striving to provide multiple vehicles for employees to share feedback -through leadership update emails, town halls, regular surveys, and office hours to name a few - and our leadership team is taking that feedback seriously and actioning it on a regular basis. I'm sorry to hear that you felt that we've played favorites - that must have been frustrating. We're focused on ensuring that our robust performance management process makes it clear to employees how they are performing and what they need to do to advance, and those decisions are based on how employees deliver for clients and colleagues. Our CEO/founder and President are not planning to step down; they and our employees are extremely passionate about serving our clients and fulfilling pymetrics mission to help companies make better and fairer people decisions with behavioral science and ethical AI technology. In the case of our founder, she has dedicated her professional life to that goal. However, they are focused on constantly improving, so thank you for sharing your feedback! We appreciate your contributions to pymetrics and wish you all the best. Jenn Perez Chief People Officer
