Pros

It was a paying job.

Cons

The company employs 25 to 30 people and has no HR department or outside HR counsel to assist employees. The owners do not care for the wellbeing of staff which is reflected in the company's overall disorganization, lack of communication, lack of health and safety protocols, and verbally abusive language used by owners when they do choose to communicate with employees. Worksafe BC standards are flagrantly ignored and measures are taken by the owners and upper management to hide areas of the studio that could be flagged as unsafe when the city visits the studio. The company is certified BCorp however they do no adhere to the strict employee wellbeing standards or the living wage requirements as mandated by BCorp. They consistently reduce the amount of precious metals in their jewelry products while increasing retail and wholesale prices, which has been noticed by longterm customers however the company does nothing about it. No room for growth within the company as they deem all employees replaceable. After 25 years in business their turn over rate of employees is roughly 30 individuals in 1.5 years, and no measures are taken to increase employee retention or satisfaction. During the COVID 19 outbreak after emergency status was declared by the BC government, they remained open thus potentially exposing employees to harm while the owners and all upper management staff were working from home as of the beginning of March 2020.

Seems like a good job but it isn't.

Pros

Working hours are 8-4pm. They provide donuts & scones sometimes.

Cons

Management handle internal issues poorly and don't communicate to their staff. Majority of the staff are underpaid yet are referred to as "artisans" in the company messaging. The company claim to be Bcorp but they have a very unhappy workforce. There is a general lack of respect for employee's hard work and effort. Staff turn-over is constant. Senior management don't do anything to improve staff wellbeing and are generally not concerned with staff issues.

Pros

You get Pyrrha dollars towards product.

Cons

-They will lie about your pay. - The management team is nuts. - They do not give you a proper lunch break. - If you have an appointment they force you to make up the time even if it's 30 minutes. - They do not pay overtime. - They claim in your interview that they do not micromanage, but it is the most micromanaged company I have ever worked for in my entire life. - The staff are all miserable so the culture is TERRIBLE. - If this company approaches you RUN! - They will give you impossible to achieve sales targets so it's impossible to ever get your promised commissions or bonuses.
