Pros

Hires recent grads. Nothing else.

Cons

Management is horrible. There is so much nepotism which results in horrible people hiring their horrible friends to manage you. Pay is disrespectful. Overtime is an added offense to the already rude pay. Everyone is overworked which results in coworkers having bad relationships. Management is racist. I had a top director/CEO say my curly ethnic hair was wild. They promise clients ridiculous deadlines without consulting with PIs and expect you to meet them even if it means you working weekends straight.

Pros

My immediate supervisor and working group was decent. I loved my supervisor and felt like they really did care. Had some work friends I got along well with, was never bored, pay was better than another offer I had gotten (barely), and it was pretty close to where I lived. Decent place to start if you're a recent grad and need to gain experience, because you can learn a decent amount here. Oh, and in the summers they used to have free UDairy once a week.

Cons

I was repeatedly harassed by an older PI, who insisted that because I was a married female it was "[my] duty to give [my] parents grandchildren", and other related comments. I reported him to HR a few times and even had to text my supervisor to get me out of uncomfortable situations in the break room a few times. HR ignored it. Pay was lower than it should be and my final year there I got a less than 1% raise despite a perfect performance review and told to be grateful because the company didn't have to give us any raise at all. It felt like the company didn't like letting people take off without a ton of notice (if you already had assignments scheduled, you'd disrupt the workflow by taking off- but assignments were scheduled months in advance sometimes), overworked people, and didn't want to let me use my sick time for medical procedures I needed to have done- I was encouraged to just make up the time later that week instead. Didn't really seem to care about employee's health during the early days of the pandemic: they implemented shift work for a while but you couldn't really distance in the labs so there were several Covid-19 outbreaks. You can get promoted relatively quickly, but will not be paid what you deserve to make and benefits are pretty average. Benefits weren't the worst I've seen, but I also wouldn't classify them as generous.

Pros

none. Sometime when john kolman does something messed up like make us use vacation for a covid scare he will make us food to compensate.

Cons

They dont know how to train new comers. Everyone there hates it. John kolman and HR sent out an email trying to force us to improve glassdoor ratings because everyone was complaining about being vastly underpaid compares to any other similar business. They think the solution to everything is a pizza party.
