I worked at QSC full-time for more than a year

    Pros

During the integration of an acquired company, I was able to work with a team of incredibly talented people to achieve process transition and product development milestones while merging the perceptions and expectations of two corporate cultures. We shipped hardware and software faster than the acquired company ever had, and the products were as or more sophisticated than those the acquiring company normally develops....

    Cons

QSC advertises itself as flat, meritocratic, and egalitarian. This may be true for some parts of the company. As it shifts from an Orange County manufacturing company to a global tech company it will need to recognize the dynamics of nurturing new or outside talent versus bowing to the influence of entrenched organizational authority. There is a bully culture at QSC. Those who have influence can easily marginalize those...

    Advice to Management

The company is growing because it's really good at certain technologies and products. If the company is going to keep growing it needs to get good at nurturing and creating managers. You guys read HBR. Exercise it.

I have been working at QSC full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

QSC has had a lot of strong growth in all areas of its business and it doesn't come with unrealistic expectations. The company is extremely transparent with financials, decisions, and direction, which helps with knowing what you're making and why it's a good idea. The company is also receptive to feedback from all levels, though sometimes it takes of confidence on your own part to make it heard. The work-life balance...

I have been working at QSC full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Extremely innovative company that is unafraid to embrace an evolving industry. Very strong emphasis on company culture.

    Cons

As the organization grows, lots of employees are currently growing into multiple roles. If you are afraid of hard work, this may not be a good place for you.

    Advice to Management

We are a growing company, and have add some major successes recently. We're also making deliberate a starting to grow into uncharted territories for QSC. Let's continue to do our due diligence in these areas of growth and not come to market with new things prematurely. Slow and steady has always won our race.
