Pros

Enjoyed working with some co workers, both at terminal, corporate and drivers. Benefits ok, health, dental, vision, 401k, PTO, but there are a lot of out of pocket cost. I would recommend only to somebody unemployed that was in need of income.

Cons

Poor work life balance for terminal associates that are managers. Company has an after hours department (Extended Services), that comes in after 4 p.m. I was woken up several times after midnight almost every week with calls of little importance. Weekend calls on Saturday and Sunday are the norm almost every weekend when your not working at the terminal. Work/life balance was effecting my health as this was one of the reasons I decided to leave and it was becoming overwhelming for me. Training can be a lot better. Hard to find answers, when you ask there are a lot of ums, I dont know, and ask different people? There are terminals where managers wear many hats, dispatch, driver manager, equipment, etc.. Career opportunities vary on location.

Pros

I'll preface by saying I left on good terms by my own volition after many years with the company. Translation: This is not an embittered post-firing review. Working at corporate QDI you will meet some great people. All in all, down to earth, nice coworkers who you will grow to love. The CEO is great.

Cons

The company was acquired a year ago. It has been a downhill slide for employees. There is pretty widespread dissatisfaction. HR and management really don't have a good pulse on their workforce. They would probably be shocked if they knew how many people hated their jobs. Compensation has always been a race to the bottom. Much of the work is mundane, uninspired and repetitive unless you are part of the overly-large VP/Director circle. The culture is suffering pretty badly. There isn't a air of open communication. Management is squeezing employees for every ounce of productivity. They talk down to employees and make them feel pretty small, often in front of other people.

Pros

Working at Quality Distribution in a business professional capacity can at times be rewarding. The complexity of the business being done leads to a great amount of personal growth for people early in their careers.

Cons

There are two things that you need to look out for if you are considering a job with Quality Distribution. The first thing is benefits. On the surface it appears as if they offer a competitive benefits package. However the truth is learned if you dig a little deeper. The 401k matching is a whopping 6 cents on the dollar up to 6 percent of your pay. The "profit sharing" plan is laughable as the earnings targets are simply unattainable. The tuition reimbursement plan is pretty much a contract for indentured servitude. And finally the health insurance is way too expensive for what you actually get. The second thing is, the actual state of the company! Employee morale is very low and the company just doesn't seem to be performing very well.
