Pros

Your coworkers and health benefits.

Cons

Management is unorganized, abusive, defamatory, immature, and favoritism is evident. There are layoffs every other month. There is absolutely no room for promotion. They hire inexperienced people over good people which makes others have to work harder for less. You are never safe or secure in your position. When there are layoffs they expect you to absorb every position and do it all with a smile. Empathy doesn't exist. They hire people with connections over talent, and that cripples the company and the employees. There are often over-night work nights or far into the early mornings. You cannot question the management because you are "lucky to be there at all". They make interns work over night.

Pros

Characteristically California surfer style and aesthetic, close proximity to the Huntington Beach surf, 50% discount on merchandise, paid holiday vacation, and casual dress (flip-flops and board shorts) worn in the office.

Cons

Very low company moral as a result of poor management, high turnover, layoffs, restructuring at top level (2 CEO's in one year is the strongest indication, and little to no support from Human Resources. The social climate is toxic for those who don't follow the status quo and it seems to be an extension of college fraternity/sorority life for the majority. Only the "cool kids" survive! Additionally, employees and managers can be found inebriated from a night of partying the day after. Lateral movement often occurs for those who can crush beers with upper management but are not fully qualified or ready for more responsibility. There isn't a clear line in the sand which allows for sexual harassment, office bullying, HR violations committed by management, and poor work ethic (employees can be found watching YouTube or leaving the workplace for extended amounts of time). Overall, there is zero confidentiality, accountability, and professionality. With layoffs, smaller teams have to absorb more work with no pay raise & overtime is not an option.
