Pros

Nice office with a view in downtown LA. Generally laid back and kind coworkers. There are fun events. Close to public transit. You get to go behind the scenes and work with interesting, innovative companies. Very clear hierarchy and career path.

Cons

Old-school corporate mentality: - The hours you work matter more than your output / efficiency, unless you are top level management. - There are no work from home options, unless you are management even though there is a lot of independent work. - Time off and holidays are kept to a minimum. - Essentially it is just the perspective that employees need a lot of structure and they will take advantage of the company if not kept in check. Instead of a more modern approach, which is if you trust and take care of your employees (pay, benefits, flexibility, development) they will drive business success. There is a cultural undercurrent which can affect your work: - Gossip flows. - Constructive input is often viewed as complaining. - People can be overly serious and consumed by work. - People are encouraged to keep their head down and not make waves. They want top talent for low pay: - It's a small company. You are expected to be content with the pay because the idea is, if you put in enough time, eventually you may be promoted to a management level position. This may be a slow process. - They can undervalue experienced people. Obviously you have a choice when you accept the job. Be content with the number, not just the value proposition.

Not a great place

Pros

Great early career experience and learn how to manage difficult relationships

Cons

Micromanaging and lack of a livable wage. Upper management doesn’t listen to the needs of employees. Toxic relations between sales and the project team. A definite lack of cohesion and support.
