Small but solid

Pros

I had none of the issues with expense reports that the previous reviewer shared, and I frequently submitted them. This company was very small at the time I was there, but I found that it was ran professionally and the business owners were very hands-on. I would work for RC again if the opportunity came up.

Cons

Living in the Tri-cities area is sometimes a tough sell, it takes more than just a visit to understand what is great about the community. I understand that they do work on projects in other locations though.

Mean, vengeful owners

Pros

Decent contract wages. If you’re a contract employee, working elsewhere on the Hanford site (not in the office), you can bypass the tensions of working for these people.

Cons

The owners micromanage to a fault. They are paranoid of all people working for them and trying to gain trust is moot. They run very hot and cold; respectful and approachable one moment, only to be berated (in front of others) the next. They have a difficult time keeping their anger under wraps and make everyone working there aware of their issues with others. Horrific place to work and wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Those that gave them 3 or more stars as a rating are probably contractors working elsewhere on the Hanford site, and are not subjected to experiencing the distasteful office atmosphere.

Pros

I was hired for a special project and submitted a written test at the company's request to prove my competence and expertise. I was impressed that the selection process was strict and selective; the pay was very good; most people at the supervisory level and below were helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable.

Cons

I was not supplied with an office, desk, my own computer plus software, or any written directions for using the database or word processing program. My "workstation" was the owner's laptop on a small temporary desk in her office. I was given short, terse, verbal directions on how to access the documents to proofread and edit. I took frantic notes during this "training session." And then the owner disappeared into meetings. It was sometimes difficult to find others who had some time to physically show me the document file access (remember, I was given only brief verbal directions). However, everyone but the owner was patient with me. Due to the fact that I wasn't "working fast enough" on the project, I was let go two weeks later with no warning and no explanations (other than not working fast enough for the owner).
