Pros

Mostly flexible schedule and rental discounts for employees. 40 hour work weeks. Very hands on with residents so it's good for people skills.

Cons

Very little room advancement unless you are related to the owners. They actually mandate that we wear a skirt on a certain day of the week, yes, in 2015! The regional managers micro-manage everything and are quick to blame when they make a mistake. The corporate office is a joke. The accounting, IT and HR departments are run so poorly that by the time new items are rolled out they are already out-dated. There is a definite "us against them" attitude when it comes to the relationship between the corporate office and the property. They want us to be green but still make us print endless redundant reports that they could get themselves off of our management system. The pay seems a bit lower than other management companies for some staff, but higher for others depending on who you know. There is no consistency at all and no common policies that are practiced. And the healthcare benefit is extremely expensive, not really sure it's a benefit at all. There is a bonus program, but it's miniscule and they keep changing the goal posts when you actually make your goal.

Pros

Pay was the only gold thing.

Cons

Did not give full job description (aka working for a section 8 housing community before getting hired); management stole leases/comission from leasing agents; manager made leasing agents work on everyone else's comission work; had to work every weekend (you would get one weekend every 2 to 3 months according to property manager); yardi system is overly complicated and outdated; work was disorganized and didn't even have me fully hired the 1st week being there when everything should have already been in place weeks beforehand.

Dear Reviewer, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us here at RMK Management. Your review offers an outstanding opportunity for us to clarify many points about our portfolio and work culture, which we feel may have been misunderstood. Firstly, we’d like to clarify that RMK does not manage any Section 8 housing in Wisconsin. We believe in providing a wide range of housing options to cater to diverse demographics. However, the inclusion of Section 8 housing within our portfolio is not currently a part of these offerings. We would be grateful if you could update that detail in your review for accuracy. It is indeed accurate that being a part of our team means contributing to collective work to meet our goals and timelines. We strive to foster a supportive and cooperative work environment where every member plays an integral part in driving efficiency and productivity. This philosophy has essentially proven to provide the backbone of our success. With regards to familiarizing oneself with RMK's mission, story, and purpose, these key aspects are readily available for review on our official website. We view transparency as a critical component of our organizational culture, which is why we actively share this information with all team members and our valued clientele. Speaking to your point about the use of Yardi software, we have implemented, it as it is considered one of the most common and user-friendly leasing software programs in the industry. We understand that it might pose a learning curve to some, but we remain steadfast in our commitment to providing ample training and support to navigate this system effectively. As part of our commitment to providing excellent customer service, our leasing agents are required to work on weekends. This is a detail that we emphasize during our interview processes and we work diligently to ensure all prospective employees are aware and agreeable to this condition. However, recognizing the importance of work-life balance, we strive to offer our leasing agents a weekend off where possible. We appreciate your honest reflections and hope that this response provides accurate insights into our company policies and processes. We remain dedicated to improving our workplace and fostering a positive, inclusive environment for all employees. The RMK Management Team
