Pros

Pay and benefits are decent, though not the best in the industry. Competitors like Avangrid offer better pay and bonus structure regardless of level. Best employees are leaving for other companies. Nice, collaborative colleagues in the US in spite of poor, inexperienced executive management.

Cons

A thankless company to work for, little recognition by executive management of employees’ commitment to the business and achievements unless you’re in development, construction or asset management. Completely arbitrary layoffs in the US have become regular occurrence because of short-term dives in RWE share price, political/policy uncertainty in key markets and investor concerns in recent months about company’s direction and lack of a communication strategy under current executive leadership. If you enjoy those with less knowledge and experience in your area of expertise telling you how to do your job, and not valuing your experience and perspective, you’ve come to the right place, especially if you’re a woman or minority. Work/life balance only exists in Europe or for entry level positions.
