Pros

The CEO is a rare combination of type-A go-getter and cerebral strategist. There is no deadwood at RADAR. Everyone is excellent at their core competency. General sense of ethics keeps morale up. The product is exceptionally well built. Health benefits very generous.

Cons

Roles sometimes unclear at first. It’s actually quite hard to dig up 20 words worth of negatives. Muffins. Scallops. Lentil soup.

Pros

Focused, professional, and collegiate; the team at RADAR is sincere, intentional, and mindful. Respect and dignity were the core values I felt while employed here. The medical ins was incredible.

Cons

I don't believe in cons - just opportunities for growth.

Pros

RADAR gets it right. Every member of the team is outstanding, and there's a tremendous amount of genuine camaraderie. Our leaders are good people who understand that employees' humanity comes first. We work with up-to-date technologies and strong engineering practices. The product itself, which aids in compliance with privacy laws, is beneficial to society. Our customers love us, and tell us so regularly. I've never been happier with the team I'm on and the work we do together.

Cons

There aren't a lot of negatives, just a few growing pains. The legacy tech stack (dating from before RADAR was an independent company) is still in the process of being migrated so it can be retired, so the technical team deals with a few headaches on that account; however, the horizon there is in sight, and the worst of it is not bad at all. Also, project planning is always a challenging space. We have many things we'd like to do, and must remain responsive to the needs of new and existing customers. Sometimes this means individual engineers wind up doing a bit more footwork to fill in gaps and clarify requirements than would be the case at a more established, process-heavy organization. Either kind of environment has its upsides and downsides, so it's more a question of which challenges you prefer. As a startup, we've got to write our own future if we want to succeed, so it's demanding work and not a place to just fill a chair and cash a check, or plan out your next 20 years on a straight and simple road. The future looks bright, but is hard to sketch in great detail. That's startups for you. By the same token, while the compensation package is as strong as it can be (and by no means short of what's reasonable), it's not as overflowing with frills as one may find at some more established companies with capital to burn.
