Rally During the CA Acquisition

Pros

Rally was a very interesting place. A truly Agile company with the most capable people I've ever worked with. Unfortunately, the company culture is being replaced by the 1980's management style of CA Technologies and many of the best and brightest, especially in the technology/engineering teams, have left. CA really isn't that bad, it's just so very different from the culture of the old Rally. But it's not a long term problem, as most of us will get laid off at the end of the year.

Cons

The company culture is being replaced by the 1980's management style of CA Technologies and many of the best and brightest, especially in the technology/engineering teams, have left. It's really too bad, as Rally was the most interesting place I've ever worked with tons of opportunity.

Pros

Engineering has finally been rescued and developers are producing again after a chaotic two year hiatus. Free coffee.

Cons

Rally has turned wholly corporate without any of the benefits. Everything from how managers speak to you to how you are compensated has lost all humanity and does not embody any of the original core values or agile principles. Micromanaging middle-management is new, dreadful, and has no understanding of the Rally culture (or even cares.) There's a "We'll crack as many eggs as it takes even if that means we replace every last one of you with contractors" attitude. You are not valued at this company and bad policies are causing talented sales reps to pack up and leave. If corporate is your thing, or you come from an even bigger, more dysfunctional corporate company, then this is the place for you.
